We shld STOP comparing & just enjoy the music that ALL the brothas mentioned are affording us, reminding us of how deeply ingrained the black spirit is
He could sing the ABC"s and I'd still buy the CD...Rah ia an underappreciated talent. I love his voice, his vocal style, and the fact that he doesnt make any apologies for however he may or may not live. Grow the hell up people... Take the music for what it is and not what you may believe the lifestyle of the person behind it may be.
All I can say is i luv, luv luv u Rashaan! I am soooo happy u are still making bomb music for me to rock to. I play u every morning at work and I have ppl asking me " Who is that" Keep giving us all that love and beauty that is ur voice. I will always and forever be a fan!
talent goes separate ways not all will be famous not all will please everyone but along the way there shoud be good better best.my best is your good or better.this song rocks especially when ur crying overtime.if u can't feel this song then talent goes separate ways
Thank you! I've been trying to figure out where I knew him from, and you cleared that up for me. I used to love Kids, Inc. and I knew I heard him from somewhere before...
Good God I just realized this is the same dude from Kids Incorporated. I'm glad to see his music career is takin off. I hope he gets more radio play. He can sing!
It is so amazing how we as human beings fall into what we are told, or taught by other human beings who were taught judgment, hate and separation. sometimes I feel as if society and black individuals particularly think gays are the enemy WE are not. We are all in this together especially black people a lot of places you walk into do not care who you sleep with they see the color of your skin. Back in the 60's when we stood together we changed the world. Our strength lies in unity!
So I would be so good to you. I can oh I have been listening to this song in each and every way you have performed it. I can't get enough of it. I hope I will get the chance to see you perform live. So someone anyone let me know when you hit JERSEY
if you noticed, he always used his backround singers i.e. Lisa Fischer,Tiwatha Agee and Ciny Mizelle to display the inner him with the gowns, theatrics, and makeup! His music was also so mainstream that he didn't fall into the catagory like Rassahn. Other famous peeps from Kids Inc. were Shanice,Fergie,Jennifer Love Hewitt!
You're welcome family! I have more and will upload accordingly! Check out the other three Rah joints....especially his cover of Sade's STRONGER THAN PRIDE. One
Who cares about him being gay....anyone that is old enough to remember "Kids Incorporated" knew he was gay back then. He still had the voice and that is undeniable! Rahsaan is one of my favorite artists..hands down!
Gay or not should not be the topic of this post. I'm am sure that bknicca posted this live performance of Rahsaan Patterson mainly to show us all just how very talented he is live. I think we all agree that he truly is a great vocalist. That should be that focus of our comments here.
point well made. well it dont matter to me the boy's got talent, i've always been a fan of his. peace. and good lookin on the info from the kids inc. thing.
@rodneyj2: you bring up a lot of good points. The "power" does not give a damn about us and does everything it can to keep us distracted and uneducated. If people are really tired, then they should start letting these "powers" know by any means necessary. Back to the video: I did not know Rahsaan Patterson was gay and I really don't care since it does not impact my life. It's all good as long as me keeps making good songs.
If I brought a camera to a show to tape it's most likely one of my favorite artist and ultimately recorded for my enjoyment so if I choose to scream all over the tape I think it should be my right to do so especially since you never know if you'll get to see the artist again. And Rahsaan is not a homosexual he was on an interview explaining his journey and I wouldn't care If he was just thought you all should have the most up to date info.
Rahsaan can be compared but totally different artists altogether... the only thing that links them is the delivery style... however Rahsaan is more laid back whereas Tonex is energetic.
Rahsaan's musicianship has been compared to Stevie Wonder, Prince and Chaka Khan as well. I don't think one should be put down to give credit to the other.
Iz you crazy?? Stokley ain't weak. You must be stupid too think dat. Stokley & Rashaan are just about the same, it's that (like bentfamily said), "Stokley displays more versatility in his voice."
what other notable names came from that show? i dont agree that what u call a lack of success is due to him being gay tho. its due to the fact that real music has taken a backseat to bullshit music and imagery these days. theres many gay artists out there same as Ra'.
