Kojima both followed through with his cyborg ninja archetype and gave Raiden a popularity boost with that one. I really believe he always liked the Gray Fox character and he merged that with Raiden.

By popularity boost I mean about when MGS4 came out. I am of the group that liked Raiden since MGS2, that game was also my classic, would love to see cutscenes from that game again (if they are not on this channel already!)

i understand that feeling. in some past interview, kojima prod actually had difficulties at PS3 architecture. so they tweak it so much that it can run on PS3. actually its a miracle that MGS 4 can run flawlessly at all.

It feels like they really really did push the limits of the system at the time. The frame rate drops were worth how intensive these scenes were.

We really had no idea how good we had it back then. Most games look horrible these days from the perspective of animation.

Raiden was too insecure of himself. He wanted so bad to be someone that he isn't, that he had to do it artificially. Yes it gives him character growth over time as he has to learn to be responsible with his newly found power, but if you remember his appearance in the bonus footage of MGS 3, he admits he was a jealous wreck. Just a wishful kid. The producers basically made a joke of him. Personally, I never liked Raiden because he always reminds me of every dumb kid full of egotistical wishful thinking that can never accept their own limits. MGS 4, he has his mental breakdown and shows what a weak kid he is.

Crazy thing is metal gear rising came out later on the 360 and ps3 and it looked amazing plus ran at 60fps

They sacrificed a little visual clarity for the higher frame rate and guaranteed it did not have the same budget with mgr being a spinoff

@@zizochemlali4639 Yeah, it's mostly because of cyborgs that things like metal gears are starting to get outdated in the metal gear series, If you can pack so much power into a human sized killing machine that can rival and overcome one that is the size of huge buildings then the cyborgs seem like a better choice

I played all the games and I still have no idea what the fuck is going on.

And that's why it often ran at a choppy 20 frames per second. It never exceeded 30 even tho its target is 60.

I don't understand why so many people say it. It looks meh at best to me. Plus, this is a GAME. Super long fight cutscenes like this plare out of place, IMO.

That fight scene between Vamp and Raiden is better than every other action movie fight scene we've had outside of the John Wick series over the last decade.

Kyle Schneider had to be reassembled after he got blown to bits in Outer Heaven and Gray Fox went through that reconstruction twice, first as a young adult with the Null project and then later after his body got destroyed by a minefield.

All i ever heard of MGS4 is that it is a 10/10 masterpiece the only people who talked trash about it were 360 fanboys back in the day because it was only on PS3

@@ChrisThePlayer777 It wasn't. It was a good game but I had already played all the previous games and in comparison it had very little in terms of gameplay. It was definitely more advanced but the first 2 chapters were short and that's where the game peaked. Chapter 3 is basically on rails then chapter 4 is a retread of shadow moses but without a single human being occupying the entire facility. Chapter 5 was a race to the finish. The game then ends. The purpose of the game really just seemed to be telling a 8 hour long story and retconing inconvenient story aspects and trying to tie everything together in a pretty slapdash hamfisted manner. What little gameplay there was that revolved around the free form stealth in a warzone design philosophy that occupied chapter 1 and 2 was good but after beating the game a couple times you just realize how much unrealized potential there was here. I was really looking forward to a follow up and having a fuller game with these new elements but alas that came years later and phantom pain was just as unrealized because Konami cut the cord. MGS4 was the beginning of the end I just didn't really see the full picture and understood how egregiously Konami was gimping their own games until the messy MGS5 situation occurred.

I like it because it still holds some of Raiden's human appearance, it feels more definitive to me, the Rising design is cool but to me is equivalent of big boss using the battle dress on Peace Walker or Phantom Pain

Personally, I was perfectly ok with the fighting choreography/cutscenes in Twin Snakes, and for me they're only second to these scenes in MGS4. Sometimes its ok to suspend reality if it produces an awesome result. The scenes in Twin Snakes made me love Grey Fox.

@@zaizen4359 It kinda shredded Solid Snake's fighting style - he wasn't meant to be a Big Boss level CQC-god but more of a clinical "weapons-master" soldier (see how he fights in MGS2). Turning him into Neo for cinematics was the wrong move.

It's a technical glitch from the emulation of it running at 60FPS, I believe. In original PS3, that doesn't happen from my recollection.

There is not way for Hideo Kojima to remake this saga. He left Konami and created the Kojima Productions. The rights of the saga belongs to Konami, so it doesn't belong to him anymore

The only way for Hideo Kojima to remake the Metal Gear games would be for him to buy the rights, which we know he doesn't have the money for, and Konami would never sell. Or if Konami suddenly goes bankrupt and he's able to pay pennies on the dollar at a private auction. When he left Konami, he left everything he helped create behind, so we are stuck with pipe dreams and what could've been...
