Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw successfully tested the indigenous Kavach 4.0 safety system on a locomotive run from Sawai Madhopur to Indergarh Sumer Ganj Mandi in the Kota division. This initiative is part of Indian Railways' "Mission Raftaar," aimed at improving safety and speed through advanced technology.
During the trial, Vaishnaw interacted with locomotive pilots and gathered insights about the system. The event featured key officials, including Shobhana Bandopadhyay and Amitabh.
The Kavach system significantly enhances safety by reducing human error in signal observation, supporting the push for trains to operate at speeds up to 160 km/h over 545 km between Nagda and Mathura. The successful trial included assessments like automatic whistling at Level Crossing No. 148 and safety checks at red signals.
