grebnellok I'm going Railfanning there someday the caboose is maybe because they didn't have the light so they had to use the caboose to Tell the other trains that that's the back of the train because you know how they have the blinking light on the back of the train the caboose did that back in the day so that's why they dont use the caboose anymore maybe the last car didn't have the light so maybe they used the caboose or it could have been a BNSF special
