Railfanning a busy Santa Fe Depot on a Sunday afternoon in March 2010.
Amtrak Pacific Surfliner Train #572 is shown in this video arriving into San Diego and then doing multiple track switches. It has a somewhat rare addition on the rear which is the reason for all of the switching. It's the Silver Splendor Dome Car. F59phi #455 powers this set and has a very "horny" engineer at the controls. Excellent full blast K5LA from #455!!! After all the switching is complete, this set turns into Amtrak #583 which is seen in the last clip departing 12 minutes late out of San Diego.

Ya I agree, most of them do suck. However, I do like 457 and 462. They're pretty good! I would take a P42dc over an F59phi anyday!! Not to mention an F40PH too!!!

so was the real engineer in the the f59phi and the conductor was in the cab car just operating the horn and bell? cuz it sounded like the f59phi was honking 2
