Originally I was planning on spending most of the day in Mazon on the BNSF Chillicothe sub but work replacing the Media bridge in Western Illinois meant only the high priority intermodals and Chicago to Galesburg traffic were running so I only saw one. Thankfully the UP Joliet sub is only 10 miles south on 47 in Dwight. The traffic on the line has steadily increased and with the double tracking going on it's sure going to be busy in the next few years plus the 10 daily Amtraks between St. Louis and Chicago. I saw two of the Lincoln Service trains stop at the recently built Amtrak station plus two stack trains one each direction (Global IV is the major intermodal yard for this line) and the fast northbound Texas Eagle coming through. Enjoy and don't forget to comment and subscribe!!!
