This is a preview of Railfanning with the Bednars Volume 20. The full DVD is available from our website: www.johnpmedia...
DVD summary below:
In Railfanning with the Bednars volume 20, we continue the D&H and Conrail action from the Bednar collection between July and October of 1989.
While the Susquehanna had acquired newer power sets painted in Susquehanna livery, they were still operating with a collage of foreign power, borrowed from wherever they could to help keep the trains moving.
Conrail’s volume of traffic into and out of the Lehigh Valley was steadily growing. With upgrades to infrastructure, train speeds were increasing. Outside of Allentown, it became more difficult to chase trains at the usual locations as they would be long gone before they could be captured. The typical hotspots continued to host a constant parade of trains, with vehicle traffic being backed up for miles.
We’ll also railfan a Blue Mountain and Reading excursion on the Perkiomen branch down to East Greenville and return in October 1989 with the 425.
As usual, Big Mike provides the commentary.

Ok, I'll make that a third. I left though in 83 when I was furloughed and went on to New Jersey Transit where I retired from in August 2018. Now I'm enjoying the easy life.

Another great volume. I know someone who's gonna love the footage of the Perk Branch excursion and of CR 7554 at 0:26 (now on East Penn RR on the Perk Branch) she's gonna be starry eyed when I get this DVD for her. She also lives by the Perk in Emmaus. Would love to meet Big Mike one day. Hope all's well with him

@@PennRailVideos I was thinking it was referencing Ardmore PA, town on the "main line" near Philly where lotta foamers came from to see this action though I'm sure I'm wrong.
