Great logic puzzle! We adore this game and play a lot. Don't find it messy at all. Gives you a lot of choices and what to think about. 8,5 out of ten for us.
That box seems way larger than my box. I wish that were really the size because then we'd be getting larger boards, but with 4 of these, we're stuck with this stupid size.
I enjoy this is as a solo game. So far I have only played the Green version, and one of its expansions. Have yet to try all the various expansions in the big Kickstarter box.

this is one where the app has replaced the physical game for me, largely because of reasons mentioned in this review (no mess, no mental mistakes, etc.) i enjoy it, but i do wish it was a bit more interactive with other players though (maybe combine a bunch of versions and then draft the dice?)
I would strongly suggest to get the basic version first (not the challenge one) and that would be blue or red. Common wisdom is that the blue one is better but more serene. The red one is a bit more hostile/destructive. Then if you like it, get one of the challenge ones (my suggestion would be green) and some of the addons (eldritch and engineer get high praise).
I feel like Zee should have called out the app version, which pretty much resolves all of his issues with the game. I've heard him mention that before as being one of the only apps that he would recommend over the physical game, and I agree with him--the app is so smooth and easy to use.
Would it be worthwhile having them make tokens which match the dice faces? So instead of roll n write, it can be roll n PLACE - place the tokens in the squares instead of drawing
I have the Kickstarter and always play on the large boards. I totally agree that the standard boards are too small. And I have got other whiteboard pens with smaller tips, that helps.
