Mod author here! Just wanted to point out a couple things. I have no timeline, as this is the first time I have ever done anything to this extent, and it has been quite the learning curve. The prime mover audio in game that you hear currently, is not what it will come with, this is placeholder audio until I can either get an agreement to use someone elses audio, or, I have a few GP38s I can get audio from myself, right now, its looking like I will have to do it myself, so I am saving up for an audio recorder to do it all, as phone recordings are less than ideal I know many people are excited for this mod, Just give me time, it will be done eventually haha
No worries! The mod gets done when it gets done. It looks like you put a lot of effort into it already, so we'll wait with baited breath for it to arrive. No rush!
Hello Beeman, love the work you are doing. I have offered my audio of GP38-2s a couple of times to you, recorded with high quality DSLR microphones. Some of it is on my channel, I have much more not uploaded yet including some sound loops I created.
@@robertbalazslorincz8218 Engine heat is not displayed, just like in real life, there is no temperature gauge (some have them on the water pump but I dont have it implemented) You have to be very hard on the locomotive to make it overheat, basically notch 8 5 mph or less for more than about 15 minutes will do it. The video says its based on different RPM levels but its more influenced by amps, more amps, the hotter the engine gets.
Honestly, pre- dash 2 GP38s and 40s are close enough to Railroader's time frame for me, at least as late game equipment. The GP38 entered production in 1966, so only about a decade off the current GP9s and such.
Question on the air flow gauge... shouldn't that run closer to 0 CFM once the brakes are charged? Otherwise that wouldn be indicating a pretty severe leak once the pipe is charged. Looks absolutely fantastic so far!
DT & I was the last thing I was expecting to see while scrolling through RU-vid, It's hard enough to find Detroit Toledo and Ironton model trains I wouldn't have expect it in a video game
I have a feeling we'll be seeing alot of mods like this even though they don't fit the time-era for the game. Hoping we'll get some more modern cars too
It is, however, at the end of the day, it’s down to the end user to decide what they’d like to use for motive power. Not everyone wants to stick to “period accurate” equipment. I can see an argument for one as a sort of “End Game” locomotive.. or perhaps If you’re trying to run a “tourist/museum” save with friends.
Different strokes for different folks, I don't take issue with that. Personally would like to see a few more vintage diesels as mods or official releases, as there was a greater variety of makes and models. Alco, Baldwin, Fairbanks Morse, EMD, GE.
I would like to point out that arch bar trucks and wood frame/truss rod cars aren't period accurate or intermixable with 1950s era equipment either, and those come in the stock game.
