Berea, OH is the point where the Norfolk Southern Chicago Line and the CSX Cleveland Short Line Sub run close together and is regarded as one of the busiest junctions east of Chicago. Berea was my final stop on my Summer 2021 jaunt and while it was nice to be back, traffic was less than ideal most of the day. Effects of continued implementation of PSR (precision scheduled railroading) were in full effect as there were not as many trains running compared to my last visit in 2014. CSX was particularly quiet most of the day, but nonetheless, the trains did run.
