So for those who don't know, I made this video around November 2023 for one of my College courses, were the assignment was to cover any topic of media and cover it in any form desired. I decided to cover a video talking about the different Media's that railways have seen, from the steam age to modern day. Hope you all enjoy this never-seen college video. ;)
btw, I got a good grade with this video.
Music used:
Awaiting WiFi Race - Mario Kart Wii
Throwback Galaxy - Super Mario Galaxy

My childhood of train media that wasn’t Thomas and Friends consisted of 1. The I Love Toy Trains series 2. There Goes a Train 3. Trainz Driver & Trainz Driver 2 4. What You Want to Be When You Grow Up: Railroaders Edition.

You talk about old train magazines the last one I have is a copy of railroad man's magazine from March of 1912 it was about 15 cents and I'm surprised it's in such good condition a friend of mine gave it to me it was pretty cool to see it's pretty darn thick compared to today's magazines they had a lot to cover back in those days

The railway media that got me into transfer good it was actually two films regarding the White Pass and Yukon Railway. While thomas did have a hand in it WP&YR sealed it for good.😊

I feel like DVDs/VHS tapes/home media in general should've gotten a mention here, given how prominent they were among railfan circles in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Companies like Pentrex, Mark I, Greenfrog and Herron Rail were (and still are) all pumping out high quality programs for railfans of all ages and all types.

One form of media I think about is maybe, diaries of the pioneers? Like, imagine George Stephenson writing a diary and just nerding out about the technical details of Rocket 😅

Technically railways have been around since the 18th century, the first ever railway was opened in 1758 in Leeds, known as the Middleton Railway, built to serve the Middleton colliery
