Imagine just relaxing on a park bench, as the rain continues to pour down. You’re wet, but honestly it doesn’t bother you. You’re listening to this peaceful music with a pair of headphones (or earbuds/AirPods, your choice). All of a sudden, someone sits next to you, seemingly unbothered by the rain, just like you. They look over at you and say, “Hey, whatcha listening to?” You tell them and they smile. “I love that kind of music! Mind if I listen?” So you unplug the headphones and let the music ring aloud, softly in the rain. For a while, you both just kind of sit there, listening to the music and the rain. Eventually, they look at you and awkwardly ask, “May I have this dance?” For a second you feel awkward and aren’t sure. It just seems kind of strange, but the perfect feeling of the moment encourages you to accept. Before long, you’re both dancing with each other in the pouring rain with someone you’ve never met, but already feel a connection with. You feel even more relaxed than before with them around. You continue to dance for quite a while, before you start to shed a few tears. They look at you and ask what’s wrong. You didn’t expect this. Before they came along, you were sure that that moment would be your last in this life. You didn’t see any reason to keep going, and you wanted to listen to the rain one last time while listening to your favorite songs. You try to say something, but the rush of happiness, sadness, uncertainty, and every other emotion keeps you from saying a word. Instead of questioning you further, they ask if they can give you a hug. You accept, and they embrace you for a few minutes. Slowly, their grip tightens, and they begin to cry too. After a while of just standing there, embracing each other in the pouring rain, you both sit down on the bench again. Turns out, they came to the park with a similar intent, but they saw you and decided to sit next to you. They don’t know why, but they felt compelled to. You start to open up to them, telling your story and the struggles you’ve encountered along the way. They do the same. Their story is a lot different from yours, but you both managed to end up in the same place, mentally, and physically. You sit in silence after a long conversation. You’re both mentally drained from the experience, but better off for it. So, instead of talking, you just sit there, now closer than before. Hand in hand, you start to think about life. Not just your story, but theirs, and the entire world’s. The ones that come to light, and the ones that may have slowly faded away. Now, you’re done thinking about that, and all you want to do is enjoy this moment. You both start to shiver, and instinctively, you both get even closer to each other. Now in a warm embrace, you listen to every drop of rain fall. You feel the gentle mist blanket your skin and the warmth of their cheek against yours. Now, this is where you are. You don’t need to read or think anymore. Just relax, and let any pain or tiredness melt away. This moment will last as long as you want it to. So, you just sit there, and listen to the pouring rain.

I stopped listening to this kind of music because I thought it made me too sad, and started acting and thinking happier. But out of something (nostalgia maybe) I decided to come here. I don't think I'm feeling sad, just....contemplative? Happier, yeah...but not going anywhere. I don't want to be happy with stagnation. I need a change. I...I think the last time I really felt another person was years ago... Even just a handshake, or holding hands... Im not sure how to fix this, but now I know I should try.

I find it odd the lofi community has the most supportive people yet they are probably the most broken and depressed people, especially sad lofi, you hear all these stories of people you've never met before yet you can relate because were all just depressed, in anime lofi its a bunch of quotes that hit like a truck and can be hella encouraging at the same time, then you have 1-3 am lofi where everyone just says whats on their minds, they're all so tired but aren't tired enough to go to sleep because they feel so drained to sleep. It's like a chore they don't want to do. So to whoever is reading this please just know that if you ever need someone to talk to come back here and tell me whats on your mind. I have been through more than you could imagine in the past couple years and I will do everything in my power to make sure you are not alone in tough times.

I know your mind is traveling to places no human should ever be at. Terrifying places, pitch black and seemingly endless. And it is these moments that make me realize, that we're not just random people talking on the internet. We are so much more. We share something so beautiful and unfathomably pure, that no human ever found a way to define it with a word. And that is why i don't need to reach out my hand to you, i'm already there. Infact, all of us are. We are there, ready to help you win that fight of yours. Just like you are behind us, when we have to fight our battles. We're not going to beat down those enemies with brute force, no. We will show them the things they hate most. Sadness will be fought with empathy, despair will be faced with compassion and the hatred will see it's eternal archrival, love. Please always remember, you were never alone to begin with. You are part of the biggest group of friends imaginable and every single one of us is rooting for you. Stand strong brother or sister and may everything you wish for become reality. I listened to this when I was in college doing work. Been done with classes for awhile and I found this video again in a music playlist. Now I can play this while chilling in my room.

This is the only track collection I've been able to find that helps me work. Thanks to Dreamy for putting this together and all the artists that wrote the pieces. This probably was what got me through high school (combined of course with My Castle Town which has become my mental anguish music, lol).
