Thanks as always for the info. Well explained. Been so frustrated by dry spots close to some sprinklers. I’ll definitely try out the under-cut nozzle. Appreciated.
great overview! I wish I had seen this at the beginning of the semester! I have an irrigation class, but have been struggling so much with diving right into the math. An overview is super helpful - especially for visual learners!
I don’t know how any sprinkler system can survive without the most commonly used 180 degree. I wonder what he meant specifically. Thanks for commenting.
Awesome explanation and informative video. I now know exactly what the filter looks like, the meaning of the colors on the heads and possibly why I am getting a V spray. New subbie! Thanks.
Thanks for sharing your wisdom. I'm having the exact problem you are speaking of where the water is overshooting the area and not saturating the area around it. I need to find those "U" heads.
About half of my 1800 prs have the filter in them and about a quarter of them are original heads before 2010,and on the street strips zone,my yard used to have the ones from the late 90s or pre 1800 and none of them have the filter in them.
@@thesprinklerchannel After spending some time at HD yesterday, it seems that the streaming tips arent the same as these, but rather are all adjustable range tips. You just select the length of the spray you want.
Great explanation. Thank you. I don’t have a lot of success shutting off heads with the top screw. And does the bottom screw do anything to adjust the head?
The bottom screw does not. You might just want to replace the nozzle. Under normal conditions, it should shut off 95% of the water flow coming out of the nozzle.
If you have a local store that just sells sprinkler parts that would be the best. Each place has different vendors. Your local lawn care or landscape company would know as well.
Tiffany I ordered mine from the Home Depot web site. Going into the store was fruitless for me. My new "U" pop up double spraying nozzle with filter should arrive in like 3 days. Sadly Lowes sold me 2 sprinklers and neither of which solves the problem. Thanks to sprinkler channel I'm getting exactly what I need.
A landscaper must have nicked a brown sprinkler head with a mower because a large section of the brown part is missing and water shoots straight up into the air. I’m wondering if I should go over to Home Depot and search for just the replacement head? I know nothing about sprinklers or irrigation systems.
@@thesprinklerchannel Thanks for the reply. No, sir, the screws screw down into the head unit until they fall out, or unscrew until they stop - no change in spray radius
@H H Thanks for your reply! I didn't think of that - the local supplier just has boxes of the heads alone. I'll try the heads with spare filters I have laying around - hope they're not too brand-specific!
If I put a nozzle on my current pop up rain bird sprinkler that throws 5 feet but want one that throws “example” 8 feet, I can just change the nozzle to the new one ?
Hi, thank you so much for guiding through the sprinkler nozzles. Really helpful material. Greatly appreciate it. Quick question with regards to nozzle's range. Are these 12ft, 15ft, etc. for radius or diameter? Just wanted to confirm if we have 15ft nozzle, this will give us 30ft diameter? I would greatly appreciate your guidance on that. Thanks so much in advance.
