Today's generation has no idea what SF used to be, the special place it was! A place for amazing music, a community , an environment where a mix of elements came together every weekend for such a special feeling for everyone that set foot in there. Every weekend I would meet some really cool people and we were all there having the time of our lives, with not a care in the world, such harmony! True house music lived there and there will never be another Soundfactory, Luv & Lodi and JP nights!!! How I miss those times but the memories live on !!
Just close your eyes and envision a packed dance floor with a pulsating sound system, strobbing lights to the rhythm and a high energy crowd having the time of their life! A time long gone and missed.
Lol Earth?.....In the club scene, I agree. Happy to have been a part of that era myself. There is a reason classic nights kept being done, and this is why.
god i miss those days.. taking a nap from 10- pm to 2 am and getting on line all the way down near the intrepid to get in at 3am.. and who could ever forget paris...
these were the real house culture days, 98-01. Tiesto was a local at Exit not the international phenom he is now. Johhny V had already hit Vet status at this point.... wowww this brings back a whole memory of a diff vibe
WOWWW I WAS THERE! I was rotating orig Exit---->Sound Factory----> orig Roxy-----> orig Webster Hall. I remember this set incredible thanks for sharing this!
Best nights of my life.period.this is a top 5 sf track fo sho...personal favorite was robbie riv's died in your arms/going thru it into like a prayer(oh my goodness)...think I made friends with 20 strangers every time I heard it..lol...the music brings me right back.absolutely amazing.
Dude are you kidding, it was Jim heinz's track..jp Co produced.. that shit blew the roof off...please tell me you didn't hear it at the factory and feel that way.....it's a piece of art my man...
I have. And of course JP doing it live makes it far better than any produced version but still, ehh not my cup of tea. Still miss hearing everything else weekly. RIP SF.
I think I was there that night , when they recorded this . Never missed a Saturday Sunday afternoon back than . What I would do for one more night back than
Same , tingly and goosebumps especially hearing the crowd react! Gives me that euphoric excited feeling! I used to roll to this song, absolutely incredible.
fair enough, there are 2 very different types of songs, to keep things simple... those anthem vocals brought moves out I didn't know I had lol...when is time travel gonna be on Google?right?
sound factory was a club introduced to me by my adult age friends of Don Daniel Rosas and crew the ins outs of the afterhours that being older there was still aplace to be cool
Michael, I'm so glad you shared your memories. I grew up in East Harlem and have so many fond memories of WBLS, WWRL, WKTU, The Wiz, Crazy Eddie's and taking that damn subway home after late nights at The Garage and a host of many other clubs, bars, lounges and dives!
Ahhhh all i can see is people pounding the walls at SOUNDFACTORY... Ahhh i miss those days..best club ive ever been to this day..and ive been to alot..but nothing has compared to factory
Hello I ve a question for my NYC friends, from Italy. In summer 98 (july) i was travelling in US and found this super little club on E20th (or Avenue A - damn my memory). they were spinnging this dance /trance /goa mix during the week day (like monday or such) the club/bar name was super short but it defies me. I ve been to MANY raves and countless club, but that one had something magic. Someone is able to help with the name, dj or whatever ?
