Thanks again Mario and Brian I learned a lot and had a bunch of fun. Hope I can join you again 2022. You captured Rusty at his favorite past time in the pictures at the end.
I cannot believe that you folks took those adventure bikes out in the rain and dirt. lol! Looks like an awesome trip! I'd also like to say hello to my "brother" filming at the 6:30 part of this vid.
Those were easy creek crossings, try Lower Town Creek Rd Maniford and packhorse roads on Town Creek next time, there's 4 creek crossings that I did last summer. They're a little more challenging and slightly deeper. Definitely a section to do during a dry spell. I attempted to do them last spring but turned around due to high water. There's another one on 3/2 by Williamsport Wva with a nice historic stop at the Nancy Hanks birthplace, Abe Lincoln's mom
Nice video. Cool to see yourself at times. Never get to see that when I am usually the one taking the pictures. Pete did an awesome job staging that water crossing. We know it was staged right Pete! Brian's Wait I need a picture moment was priceless!!
LOL, agreed. It is cool to see yourself riding. Pete started filming me a couple years ago saying "People never get to see ride" definitely a different perspective.
Of course! Brian and I met earlier this week and have tentative dates set. We'll be doing a few of them this year. Should be announced in the coming weeks.
Mario- May seem like an odd question but what kind of tires are the majority of the guys running, 50/50, 80/20 etc.? I love the Michelin Anakee’s I have on my GS but haven’t been off road on them, wondering if they would work for the type of riding i see in this video.
Not Mario, but I was on the trip. Those tires and any 50 / 50 tire would have worked fine. I had more aggressive tires but the slickest part was the laid over grass on the farm loop. We had several slide out on some slow speed off camber uphill sections. The Anakee Wilds would have been fine.
So we had quite a few different tire combos. Many were running a 50/50 while some ran 80/20. Brian ran a combo with a more aggressive front 60/40 and a 50/50 rear. Meanwhile I ran the Mitas Rallystar E-13/E-12. The 80/20 had some problem on the slippery stuff and more technical stuff. I think we all agreed a 50/50 was pretty much perfect for this type of ride everywhere except on the grass track.
