Marqise Lee was a monster for USC that season. He went on to win the Biletnikoff. If Drake London didn't get injured a few weeks ago, he would've been the first to win the award since.
Right USC has always had good receivers since I've been watching. Especially in the 2010s. Lee, Robert Woods, Agohlor, JuJu, Michael Pittman, Amon-Ra St.Brown, Drake London and a few i probably left out
What an absolutely beautiful setting for a football game. The location, the colors......awesome. Every year! It shouldn’t be too hard to recruit top tier talent for these schools?
You’re 100% right, but the other Power 5 conferences have such incredible TV deals that the press and Bowl people just don’t pay attention to the PAC-12 anymore. and the TV packages are a strong incentive for players to leave the state. And neither UCLA or USC have learned to use juco transfers; academic requirements are still too strict.
U would think so I'm pretty sure they both get a few top recruits. But the fact that USC and UCLA ain't what they used to be and that they're in the Pac-12 might make it harder for them to get kids out of state or even in state to play for them. Most kids will want exposure on TV cuz it gives them a better chance to be seen and drafted higher like JuJu was the best receiver to come out of that 2017 class imo and he went 2nd round, Amon-Ra St.Brown is another example of a great receiver going later in the draft. Now exposure might not have been the reason why but i think it might be harder to get your name out there if u aren't on tv as much i could be wrong tho. Also, schools who are winning more and are the best programs such as Bama, Ohio St., Clemson(Maybe not after this season) will get the best recruits. I'm not an expert in recruiting and how team scout players tho so i could be wrong.
19:58 Matt Barkley was never the same after this hit. As a Bruins fan this was payback for the Trojans going for two in 2011 to make it 50-0. Sure Barkley would have liked an NFL career, but Anthony Barr had another idea. Also I was there and boy was it sweet.
Did you see that LSU-Alabama game on this channel from 2019? Unbelievable how much NFL talent there was. Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Clyde Edwards Helaire, Najee Harris, Justin Jefferson, Jamarr Chase, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs (yikes), Devonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle, Alex Leatherwood, K'Lavon Chiasson, Patrick Surtain II. All of those guys were first round picks
@@G0Chiefs my point is that the comment was not about Tua in any way, he was merely one in a long list of names. and of course not all first round draft picks work out, that’s just how the world works…
@@G0Chiefs True but give tua time we're so quick to give up on a player if he doesn't come out the gate putting up historic numbers. Yes he was drafted high but he still developing i think he will be find. He just gotta keep grinding and plus it's only his second season
My sophomore year in high school i was able to see this UCLA team play at CU in 2012!! Even though CU lost it was a fun game and i got to see Anthony Barr play haha
I remember seeing this game on tv and being surprised both teams had the home jerseys. It also had the scrolling ticker at the bottom so its nice to see a clean broadcast truck copy here. But it makes me wonder why the nfl doesn't supply this channel with ticker free copies of their games.
This was the first UCLA-USC game I ever attended. I was an 8 year old kid who got there early before the game with my dad and younger brother. This was Jim Mora’s 1st year in charge and we all were super excited and optimistic that the program was turning in a new, better direction. Just one year on from losing to USC 50-0, I remember being so ecstatic that UCLA won that day, being drenched in the rain was purely an afterthought. Memories that will last me a lifetime. Go Bruins
Flemlo Raps lol I've felt like he has talked about this thing. That players will be projected top pick in their junior year and decide to stay and senior year they end up being bad or getting hurt
In this game, Gus Johnson was working with Charles Davis, who works on the NFL on CBS now with Ian Eagle, who for 13 years was a colleague of Gus Johnson. Gus is calling an NFL game tomorrow on Fox!
Fun fact : The distance between USC Trojans football and UCLA Bruins football is 12 miles (20 kilometres) and driving distance from Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to Rose Bowl (stadium) is 17 miles or 27 kilometers. Travel time by car is 26 minutes. P.S. ; From the UCLA campus to the campus of USC , it’ll take you about 23 min (14.2 miles)
I listened to this game on the way back from a William & Mary football game (to which I wore a William & Mary shirt and a UCLA ballcap). I wish they still used this typeface for the yardline numbers for UCLA home games. They changed it in 2017. They still use it for the Rose Bowl game.
The pac 10 ...it's was forced out...by big ten and sec after SC dominated until 2010..they ran Pete Carroll out with extreme sanctions...like 40 scholarships .that was a ,8 year punishment...6 years w sanctions .and two to recover ....it was imposdibkf to replace the grsar PDTE Carroll the greatest...while he was CB osching...he wsd a good NFL guy too....much bettef thsb Saban...and Harbaugh....owjed 9ers...good rivaldry w pete.....anyways..yhf NCAA killed sc.. The pac ten itself seemed to be against itself...they got crappy TV deal...the other as schools didn't care or stick up for one another...Oregon thought it would just pick up where SC and Carroll left...and got the zMOST SEVERE punishment since SMU death penalty ..a school that has an assit CB coach rape multiple children ...was not punished like USC... consider that...the NCAA is being sued by Reggid Bush...and likely SC...it wss switch hunt....
