@@DragonGyrl96 Which version of what? The game is 1.5, the mods are BuffedCreatures and BetterShelters. The gameplay footage is almost half a year old by now so the mods might have been updated since.
Better Shelters is the dropwig equivalent of mods; They lure you in with the promise of cool shelters but then hit you with: Getting stuck inside them, hazards inside the shelter, every other creature deciding to spend the night with you, and so on.
better shelters is a flawless mod innit, that first scav infested shelter you got stuck in is always a complete nightmare. pretty sick dodges on that run to outskirts though 10/10

@@fist_lorderino It's mostly just Expedition Mod and Buffed Creatures (and Downpour for dramatic effect). With Expedition Mod I turned on the double jump, time slowmo and faster run perks, and the pursued, hunted and hated burdens as you can see at the beginning of the video (you'll probably have to play a bunch to unlock them in the first place). Play it at your own risk.
The rush to Outskirts was so funny and tense though. Also why did creatures always enter your den? Was the creatures always know your location mod on or no?
@@phir9255 it certainly seems to with better shelters I've found that if I stay in the same shelter for multiple cycles in a row I'll often wake up in different places but if I die or reload I'll always wake up in the exact same spot that I woke up for that cycle's first attempt
3:50 I laughed and trembled all the time from your seeking shelter and missing the throws of scavengers and other creatures. This was the best video I have ever seen for this game XDDD
Another way that somewhat affects scav reputation, if they are being attacked and you attack whatever is attacking them you get some reputation. However, if you ignore them you lose it, which greatly scales with how many scavengers that have seen you ignore
i'm only 15 hrs into this madness, this is very rare that having played this much I simply KNOW very well that I actually know shit what's happening still getting blown by the mechanics of the game and "nature". but this... what I see on screen right now... first of all it's epic off the scale 2nd - WTF? mate?
Ngl when you were trapped in the shelter with the scavs, i was kinda weirded you didnt give them the vulture mask since it has half the value of a pearl, which could have very well saved you some troubles. Then i remembered maybe with the heavier difficulty dealing with vultures was a bad idea.
i'm assuming that the small shelter that you got stuck in was for if you tamed lizards because the lizards could easily go in and out of it with the enemy exclusive pipes
First vid i saw before getting into rain world, how come I haven’t discovered such an amazing game yet- but well it was all thanks to you i found about this “epik gaem” existence
oh boy, this was a wild ride! i used better shelters for a while, but due to them being incredibly buggy i had to uninstall it. shelters look cool but are a pain to navigate
Probably really late to the game here but. . .why were all the lizards so heccing LONG??? It's like, weirdly satisfying to watch them go swoosh and everything. Was it a specific mod that caused it?
Some of them are just rude or scared. Also you have a reputation with them. It starts at neutral meaning some will kill you but you can increase your reputation by giving them items they find valuable.
it's better to bring items (not just pearls) to places like tolls or trading posts but you can usually drop items around them in general and if they take it it'll give you good rep also saving them from danger and just not seeing them for a few cycles helps you gain rep too
@@Artificer_ Huh, ok! I had to ask because I stole a bunch of pearls from a safe house and am trying to give them back. I heard pearls are one of the few items you can steal and return for a positive effect on your relationship, so long as no one saw you steal it in the first place. That being said, the guide didn’t say if there was a penalty for giving it to a wandering scavenger vs a trading post. At the spot I’m located in the dump, getting to the trading post shouldn’t be an issue, but the wandering scavengers throw stuff at me if I startle them, and there are lots of places I need to jump here, so of course they get startled..
Kinda just seems like a bad mod tbh. One that intends to add challenge but with no substance to it, instead opting to make it likely that an animal will spawn into your shelter with no way of countering it.
i feel so dumb for asking this, but how do you install better shelters? i followed the instructions in the github from the mod but i didnt get it to work... can someone please explain it to me in "dumb language" so i get it right? please and thanks a lot
For Downpour it's been renamed as Diverse Shelters: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2951387438&searchtext= It has bugs, so use with caution.
