For those of you who don't have the seamless connection like this guy did, make sure you give Rain Bird location access (in settings) before you start the app. Otherwise, you'll be curled up in a fetal position, crying, for a few hours.
I install a lot of this controllers looks like recently I am having problems connecting the WiFi module with the home WiFi . I bet the WiFi signal strength has a lot to do with this !!
I installed the same WIFI module at my mother's house yesterday and I was able to connect to the control module from anywhere on her property and made changes to the settings while on her WIFI network. I was real excited. The biggest reason for having the WIFI unit was so I can control her control module from anywhere so she does not have to go down a flight of stairs to make any program changes. I am not able to control her control module from my house. Can this be achieved?
As long as the controller has a WiFi signal and you have data or WiFi where you are located you should be able to control the sprinkler timer from anywhere. You can use it like a remote control or make program adjustments.
I was really hoping you would tell us if we can use it to "test stations" and move up stations one at the time. We do this once every single year and it gets tiring walking back and forth from the valve-solenoid box to the Controller. So..can we use it for this type of trouble-shooting purpose?
I JUST INSTALLED A ESP ME RAIN BIRD CONTROLLER. I CAN ACCESS BY THE APP AS LONG AS I AM CLOSE ENOUGH TO STAY ON MY WI-FI INTERNET. WHEN I LOOSE WI-FI , I LOOSE ABILITY TO CONTROL THRU THE APP. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG ?? THANKS RONNIE
Everything works great as long as I leave it on the Rainbird WiFi, which is unsecured. However, everything else in my house is under the network I established separately. In other words nothing else works unless I change all the devices to the unsecured Rainbird network. How do I get Rainbird to work with my original network?
What’s with the horrible reviews I’ve seen stating exhausting attempts to make it stay connected to the WiFi or just trying to connect it to the WiFi? These don’t seem to be isolated incidents either.
The price of a Rainbird wifi module is so expensive, I decide to go with other solution to remote control my home water tap instead of dealing with the sprinkler system to meter out water consumption amount while I am away.
Too bad you didn't cover the most common problem when trying to link your phone to the rain bird hot spot when the "internet may not be available" even though your wifi signal is 4 out of 5 bars.
Hello. I need help. When im connected on my wifi, i then click to rainbird to conect and then say me connected whitout internet and cant complete installation. Some help?
Any chance you could slow down the video so it’s easier to follow? I changed my password because of a hacker and now I can’t enter a new password. Followed the directions but to no avail
Yes, if you are looking for a system as a contractor look at the Hydrawise ProHC. You can set it up on your app and give your client access and they create their own username and password.
Try reaching out to Rain Bird tech support. In my experience they have been more than helpful. Be ready with your model and serial numbers. Call 1-800-RAINBIRD (1-800-724-6247) Monday through Friday from 5 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time.
That has not been my experience. I have installed several of these units for clients without an issue. Perhaps it is a setting issue. Best of luck in finding a resolution.
@@ThriftyGarage hi mate how are u? can i stay connected from another wifi net and the app will work? for example ccan i set up to start tomorrow at 10pm if im on holidays or out of my home wifi network?
We prefer the Hunter ProHC for our landscape clients. But Rain Bird still makes a good controller. When we don’t have WiFi we usually install the ESP-Me3.
