Awesome. I saw Rainbow at the Suffolk Forum on Long Island in 1977. Still have my ticket stub. I couldn't hear for a couple of days, but it was worth it. LOL
1:46 "Kill the King" 8:10 "Mistreated" Blackmore thrills us with his virtuosity...and we check our watches...Richie, play a song....sigh.... 21:20 "Sixteenth Century Greensleeves" 27:36 "Catch the Rainbow" 45:52 "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll" 53:39 "Man on the Silver Mountain"...no wait...Blackmore has to go off on yet another tangent. 56:02 Richie ACTUALLY begins to play, "Man on the Silver Mountain". 1:04:37 Ronnie launches, "Lady Starstruck" to everyone's surprise, including Richie Blackmore who was about to read, "Oh, For a Voice Like Thunder", by William Blake while seated in the Comfy Chair having a spot of tea. 1:08:11 "Man on the Silver Mountain" returns to the set list now happily married with two lovely children and has vowed to quit drinking. 1:10:04 We've apparently been transported to an Emerson, Lake & Palmer gig. 1:13:53 Rainbow returns to the stage to play "Still I'm Sad". 1:20:00 Something resembling early Tangerine Dream has come over the lads. 1:24:14 Cozy Powell reminds us of the impact Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa had on drumming. 1:26:34 What Metal gig would be complete without the William Tell Overture? 1:30:06 Apparently we're not done with "Still I'm Sad". 1:38:07 Riche Blackmore tunes his Stratocaster to the delight of men, women and boys and girls of all ages. This is what it's all about, folks! Blackmore plays a solo wherein he's also screwing with Tarus Bass Pedels and a LOT of tape delay. I mean A LOT of tape delay. 1:40:09 "Do You Close Your Eyes" 1:48:06...Ronnie James Dio packs his personal belongings and leaves to join Black Sabbath even as Richie Blackmore procedes to destroy a perfectly good Fender Stratocaster. Then Judy Garland sings "Somewhere Over The Rainbow".
One of the best Rainbow lineups - the late great RJD & CP, with David Stone, Bob Daisley and the greatest lead guitarist of rock 'n roll, Mr. Richie Blackmore. Followed Blackmore from the days of DP (1968+), Rainbow & Blackmore's Night. An incredible catalog of diverse musical directions!!!❤

Really a shame that this isn't the video from the On Stage gig released on LP. This show, Richie had just been released from jail for fighting and wasn't a happy camper hence, changing the arrangements. Still a great show....but.
