Cory Moreno YOU said it :) ,,very lucky people, Ritchie and Ronnie should have put the act together like 1997 ,,at least few years and a couple records ??.
Cory Moreno Black More now hás a boring project (imo) Blackmore's Night. i Saw Dio in the dehumanizer tour (porto alegre Brazil). Great memories. I was in the entrance row when the security ask us to open the space to a car that after stop desembarqued a tall blond woman, and after, a tiny huge monster called Ronnie James Dio! 3 m away of us!
I have seen them on october 22nd 1977 in Wiesbaden, Germany. I know , I am a lucky basterd because it was unbelievable great. The problem is its in my head since that time, i am addicted to these genius guys, and i know it will never happen again....so i am happy because i was there, but still i am sad
Мне 63 года.Опять слушаю эту великую Вещь.Лысина мокрая,слезы из глаз!!! Уверен,что никто не сможет превзойти этих великих Музыкантов!!! А Блэкмор гений!!!
@@szalonywariat7521 Ronnie James Dio and lyrical singers like Franco Corelli, Del Monaco and Caruso are the most virtuous and naturally talented singers I have ever heard, within my understanding of vocal physiology, I do not know of any singer who had an extreme level of mastery of the muscular mechanism and the vocal manipulation capacity as consistent live as these singers and especially Dio who stands out a lot in this context, he sang for more than 40 years, most of the time with a perfect command of the modern open throat technique at an extremely advanced level in register chest voice, with a fantastic degree of glottic compression and resistance and he sang without any noticeable muscular tension in his facial expressions and effortlessly for practically his entire career, Dio evolved his vocals dramatically over the years and became increasingly better and better as he got older and gaining even more range, Dio evolved vocally for more than 30 years of pure peak and after his voice aged naturally, he kept his voice at a great level even after he was 60 and without having any technical problems with his voice until the end of his life, compared to the voice problems that many rock and metal singers had due to the instability of the motor coordination of their vocal structures due to excess friction in the voice.
This song was written by Ritchie Blackmore and David Coverdale. Here's what Coverdale said about it: "We recorded "Mistreated" from 11pm to 7:30 in the morning. I heard the first playbacks and thought it was terrible. It was so bad I just sat down and cried because I wanted it to be so good. Then the next night we had another session and I did it on the second take. It's like progressive blues. I wasn't raised in a shack by the railroad tracks but I've still had emotional hassles and that's the only kind of blues I can interpret. I tried very hard because I knew it was essential to get the strong emotive quality the song needs. The thing I wanted was for somebody listening to the song to think: 'I know what he's talking about' and get the feeling, then the song would be worth it. It's essentially a physical feeling. The reason it didn't come off straight away was simply that I was trying too hard."
Whoa, Coverdale really gets it's In regards to how someone who hasn't grown up in the way a bluesman normally would can still play authentic and real music.
Wow, thanks for sharing that! I would LOVE to know what Coverdale thought of RJD's version of it... Always liked Coverdale on the few interviews I've heard...
I saw a vid of a live performance back in the day and Coverdale introduced the song by saying, Ritchie wrote this a few years ago, which would have been Gillan's time.
Holy shit the chemistry of Ronnie and Ritchie together was something the world has never seen before or since. This has to be one of the best concerts ever recorded. Thank you for posting!
Yeah sure he was, he wasn't even in the top 10. Voice was ok but the stage presence of a small onion, he got where he did becaus3e of Blackmore. He is not missed
He said that his voice came from learning to play the trumpet as a child. That he learnt to breathe properly! That and the fact he had a massive amount of God given talent! 🤘🏻
Can you believe this little mans stage presence ?He is a god amongst men in METAL!!! So much power so much confidence notice his hand gestures ?he knows he owns that stage.... and all of us know he does also R.I.P My god
Agree! RJD nailed it and somehow made it his :) I like his voice way better than Coverdale. But Gillan is still as perfect in Deep Purple as Dio was in Rainbow
Rainbow с Dio это просто бомба! Я поражаюсь, как можно за такой срок сотворить столько бессмертных шедевров. Ronnie James Dio покойся с миром. Ты был лучшим.
This is my favourite version of this track. Those three notes that Blackmore plays at 7:12 and the next couple of seconds is probably my favourite 'moment' in all of music. So filled with emotion.
Dio Vocally attacks every song with such ferocity!!!! Just a vocal onslaught!!! I think we take for granted how good these bands were live in this era from 69-82
Ричи делает на гитаре всё, что хочет, абсолютно всё, никакой закон игры ему не писан, и ведь, черт возьми, как же великолепен он, ему всё всё можно, ведь он-Бог!!!!
Mistreated (LIVE 1977 MUNICH) Rainbow 1977: Ritchie Blackmore - Guitar Ronnie J. Dio - Vocals Bob Daisley - Bass Dave Stone - Keyboards Cozy Powell - Drums
Not long after Cozy Powell's death, Dio's bass player at the time (name elludes) convinced him to to Gates of Babylon on tour, and dedicated it to Cozy Powell. It was Doug Aldridge on guitar, and he did a pretty good job on it, I think doing it justice while not trying to overdo it. But... You can watch Aldridge sweating and really concentrating on it. Haha, no pressure bro, you're just covering an epic Blackmore solo, that's all! Anyway, it's on RU-vid, definitely worth a watch.
Hey!! Ok fair enough, Sabotage has some cool stuff and I love Bill (who's still alive BTW). Cozy's stuff in Jeff Beck Group predates it but maybe not metal.Carmine... also predates but not metal either. Really it's Mike Giles in King Crimson. 21st Century Schizoid Man is the first metal song ever IMO.
Don´t forget, cozy, Bob Daisley , Tony Carey , Craig Gruber, Gary Driscoll, avid Rosenthal , Lynn Turner, Roger,David Stone Glover, Jimmy Bain, Bob Rondinelli. All have a spce in time. I love you all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The background story from this Live Concert was Richie got arrested by police in Austria Vienna after their gig. So the Crew tried to smuggle him out to Germany They failed So his lawyer i do believe paid the fine and Richie could meet up with His Band in Munich very late The crowd in the mighty Olympichall in Munich almost left when suddenly the Band started to play And what a Gig it was Maybe in my opinion the best live concert I have ever witnessed in my life Wunderbar
Fucking spine chillingly brilliant . Ritchie guitar work ? THE greatest 'rock guitaring god ' at his thundering genius best . Dio . THE greatest rock vocalist of all time .
7:30 , and so, over 40 years ago, the most epic, powerfull and beautiful scream in rock/metal history was made by RJD himself! (beautifully introduced by a stunning RB's solo)
Yes, the ever so epic 7:30 when RJD reentered orbit… Man, what a voice and what an onset when he picked up again. He could put a fog horn to shame. Bless his soul!❤️
THIS amazingly brilliant .Watched the video ,to this a few times .DIO? Greatest rock vocalist of all time .Cozy Powell .Incredible drummer .Blackmore ? His guitaring work is immeasurable .WOW ! Brilliant
¡¡¡Holy crap!!! This performance was just perfect. Men!! It's ridículous how insanely talented was that line UP. Probably the best one in rock and roll history!
When Richtie hit those syhnt pedals... it sounds like a thunder go through my ear, sharp marshall guitar playing, heavy metal in his roots... from 1974 he used delay, than a tape recorder, also some flanger effect for the song catch the rainbow, and a treble booster, than the famous feedback, so he could use any effect an still go 100% on stage, his feeling and touch in this performance is enorm. He he was in his absolute prime... spending 3 three days in our prison ( im am from austria), what was really not fair, he only protect a young girl from getting pushed around by a promoter. So he came in late and the crowd where still there... they rocked the house. Great rainbow line up.
This version is so, so amazing. This is so much better than the original version of the song. This is probably one the best vocal performance of the whole Ronnie James Dio career. Blackmore is also freakin great: listen to that intro! THIS is rock'n'roll.
I’m not sure why, but Ronnie really shines as the frontman for other masters of their crafts. In particular Rainbow and Sabbath…. Even the later Heaven & Hell material is truly RJD at his best!!! They all ramped each others game way up to eternal status!!!
I’m probably a bit over dramatic but man do the vocals in this song make me sob, they’re just so beautiful. Especially 8:51 and onwards, you can feel how much of his being is put into this song and it never fails to bring me to tears of awe
It doesn’t get any better than this! Dio! Blackmore! Cozy and all musicians in this concert are outstanding. Mistreated wasn’t written for Dio but is for shure his song! Coverdale wasn’t bad but this is something else! We will sadly never see anything like it again but this will go on repeat!
I have found over the years that there are some songs who are written for certain performers, the writer may not know it at the time but there are several that come to mind such as, All along the watchtower by Bob Dylan for Jimi Hendrix, hurt by nin for johnny Cash, and this one. The original songs are great but these performances and many more like them were special.
Blackmore left Deep Purple because he felt they were moving towards funk! This heavy stuff is what he wanted. Fast forward to "Blackmore's Night" to see where he ended up. Talk about versatility!
What a voice, what a tight band, shades of Deep Purple, man there was so much really really good universal music back then, incredible players and poets, may they all live one in the universal music within.without our minds forever.
From personal view...the best rockblues song ever performed by a band...long great improvisation from blackmore in middle, classic rock playing on his guitar... bob daisley, david stone and cozy powell backing great singing Ronnie James Dio, he sung vs amazing quality and opera feel. Rainbow in the mid and late 70s were an pure heavy rock/ metal band... doing the best possible music...stargazer, mistreated or catch the rainbow ect. are an evidence of how amazing blackmores ideas and songwriting were.
RJD was a true force of nature. The power in his vocals still blows my mind all these years later. I’m so grateful I got to see him live and recorded it! RIP RJD 🎶
