To start off i simply glued some holographic wrapping paper that I get at Hobby Lobby about halfway down the sides and spread resin over the side so it sealed it it in. I used different mediums to tint the resin I used for the layered lines since they can move different and produce different effects. For instance white alcohol ink sinks and spreads. I also did different consistencies. The black and glitter were pretty thick which resulted in broken lines and blobs, where as the white was pretty thins so the lines stayed intact but still produced some blobbing. And lastly speed played a part. going slow produced bigger and more consistent lines but going quickly produced thin stringy lines.
I've always loved Geology and it Mrs Colorberry's amazing geode artwork that inspired me to start working with resin. I've always been in awe of Crystal Ma's opal artwork. I personally have always been drawn to rainbow moonstone or any labradorite. I love the way it shifts with different lighting! So this is my take on my favorite stone. What in Nature Inspires you?
