I broke down as soon as he mentioned the people in there that could have still been in the closet, and pretty much just sobbed through the rest of the video. This world is so unfair and messed up. And the cruel irony of a gay bar being shot up with people's significant others, friends, and siblings; and then not being able to donate blood because they are gay, is almost too much to handle. It's incredible how things like this happen almost every week (in smaller amounts,) and yet our officials just stand by and do nothing but offer their "love" to the people who survive it. All of the shootings and violence before should have been warning enough that something like this would happen. Hopefully the deaths in Orlando weren't for nothing, and people actually wake up and take action, before it gets worse.

I'm all for people having guns to protect themselves, but; letting some people have access to guns is not a smart idea. People diagnosed with severe depression or anxiety (I mean REALLY severe), people who have attempted suicide or seriously thought about it in the past year (suicides take more lives than shootings), people with extreme mental disabilities, and people who have been fucking investigated by the FBI TWICE for links to suicide bombers, for a start XD I don't want to take away anyone's rights because of something they can't control, but we can't just stand back and watch them hurt themselves or others. I have major depression and have had a lot of suicidal thoughts, and I've locked my gun in a safe in another safe in my basement because I don't trust myself with it. Of course these people need to protect themselves too, and we should find ways for that to happen without putting lives at risk.

my mother and I watched this together and after I finished the video I told her I have a girlfriend. she gave me a hug and I started crying. my mom facetimed my girlfriend and my mom had the brightest smile on her face and it's been a while since I seen her this happy. she supports me in my situation and I am proud to say I am part of the LGBTQ+ community.

My dad didn't even care when I told him. At first when I said "There was a shooting in Orlando" he wanted to know about it and seemed concerned, but then when I said "At a gay night club" he just shrugged it off, which hurt me because I know he's homophobic, but I didn't know he didn't care about their lives because of their sexuality (And I'm closeted to him, so it really hurt).

Go Tyler! This video hit my feels even harder. People should be able to love who they love and not feel ashamed. It makes me very mad and sad that most of us in our LGBTQ+ community can't feel safe to be who they are. I have given up on humanity. Who would like to join me and moving to Mars? I'm a straight person, with multiple gay and lesbian and trans friends. It HURTS to see how they feel, the world we live in is a messed up and dark place. I will do the best I can to support lgbtq+ people. I'm thinking about joining gag straight alliance next year and help spread the word that the lgbtq+ community is stronger than ever and will stay who they are no matter what happens.

I'm asexual and I'm closeted I brought up the Orlando thing with my christian grandma, and she said she didn't want to talk about it. She doesn't think it's okay, right? That's what I thought she meant. But no, when I asked her why, she said it was because being homosexual, or anything else, and in her words, "being on that scale where you aren't realllyyyy heterosexual," is not a choice, because "who would choose to be discriminated against," hated by society, constantly physically or emotionally attacked all the time, and being disowned? Who in the world would want that? And that's the story of why I am not afraid to come out anymore. You would never guess that extremely christian southern "Bible Belt" grandmothers would have this attitude, huh.

I am not gay, I'm cis-straight, I don't know anyone in Florida but I do have a very very close group of friends that are in the lgbtq community and I just had to call them, I had to, just to see if they were ok, even though I knew they were. I have straight friends who were calling me, asking to see if I was ok (because I spend a lot of time with my lgtbq friends and I've been a guest at gay night clubs regularly) and asking to see if my gay friends were ok, and we all live on the West Coast, but we still called, we still checked in. Thank you Tyler for your words.

seeing Tyler cry rips me to shreds. I've just finished Binge literally yesterday and it's opened my eyes to his TRUE personality and who he really is. the LGBTQ+ should not have to live in fear and as a straight woman,I'm scared to live in this world because this community is at risk and I'm scared that we can't protect them,NO ONE deserves death because of their gender/sexual orientation/race or otherwise. I donated blood... My family drove out there just to donate blood my mom me and my sister did and I felt so happy after wards I felt like I helped someone who might have died if I didn't donate

Also, to all who may read this, if you donate blood now, go back to the center a few months from now and give again, blood only lasts 40 or so days. If you can, give blood 2 or 3 times a year. If you couldn't give blood this week, wait a week, maybe a month, and give then. A massive influx of blood is great, but a steady stream afterwards is equally useful, as I said, after a bit more than a month it's useless. Remember, just give blood when you can, every now and then.

Don't be scared! One day you'll be able to be yourself and your family will have to accept the truth, whether they like it or not. I suggest waiting until you're old enough to support yourself, so that even if your family doesn't accept the real you, they can't do a damn thing about it. Your coming out day will come eventually, but I think its best to wait, now that you know their opinions on such things like the shooting. Stay strong

As a child of a borderline homophobic parent, I was always taught to ignore the LGBTQ+ community. Now, I love the gay community and I want to do anything I can to help. I've learned from Tyler and gay friends that they are people too. They are no different from straight guys and girls. This whole situation is horrifying, and I honestly still can't believe it happened. The only thing I, as a broke-ass teenager, can do right now is pray and support my local gay community. The night before the shooting my Grandma texted me this "Next summer we can to the pride parade in June! Can't wait to go with you!" The next morning I saw this news and it destroyed me. These people lost theirs lives because one person thought it was wrong so they killed them. It's truly disgusting. That morning I went into my moms room and cried. I cried all day. It's absolutely horrible.

I'm going to the London PRIDE parade on the 25th, and over a million are expected to turn up. If anything, it's scary to think what would happen if someone did attack, but in the same respect the Orlando events will only bring the LGBTQ+ more together for the event

My senator interrupted the moment of silence for the victims in Orlando to grandstand about gun control. That is also unacceptable. People need to leave their agendas at the goddamn door at let people grieve, then after that we can go and talk about gun control or whatever the hell else.

Honestly, the lack of respect there is repulsive. We didn't even get a moment of silence at our school. We had an assembly Monday morning (as usual) were we talked about innovation, and then the head interrupted with 'an important message' Then went 'we are upping the restrictions of uniform' and then we listened to classical music. I know that I'm in London so I should expect a moment of silence, but at the very least SOMEONE to mention it would be nice.

im gay. but im closeted. and i was crying so much on sunday and mum didnt know why. i ofc didnt tell her because then i would have to come out to her and im only young, i dont want that yet. Then the next day at school my face was tear stained my make up was streaky. half way through the day i just took it off bc i was sick of touching it up. i was quite literally a mess. thank you so much tyler. the things you do for us and your viewers and most importantly the LGBTQ+ community, truly are changing the world. you are doing so much with your life tyler, and for that i thank you. xxx

It is so incredibly torturous and sad to see such an amazing person (Tyler Oakley) cry!! I was not directly affected by this horror, even though my aunt is transgender, but I still felt so disgusted by this senseless act, and scared for those who lost their lives, and for those who lost people they loved. These people were loved and cherished and were worth everything and yet were killed senselessly. It's truly disgusting and horrible and it's sad to see. It really is. This is terrible and I'm grieving. If you're grieving, you have a big heart and you're wonderful. You don't have to gay and you don't have to be directly affected by this to be mourning.

I remember the day my dad came home from work the day gay marriage was legal. He was furious, stomping around and wishing Obama wasn't president. My mom doesn't care, she said if they couldn't marry she wouldn't care. My whole family is Christian. It scares me so much, I would already be scared to come out but the fact that my family wouldn't support me scares me so much. My dad said "those people got shot for the choice they made, they shouldn't have made it then they would be fine" I wanted to die. I'm so scared :(

+Asta Sjogren-Uyehara I believe it means gender fluid. Which I think 😁(sorry if this is incorrect) means that you switch back and forth between genders. (Again sorry if that's wrong)

I'm watching this now as an "on the fence" lgbt member (meaning I don't know if I'm bi or straight) and it really hits me. I am only 12 and I am already afraid of the world. Now that this happened to the community and the supporters, it was too real. Too terrifying to be real. But it was real and we all have to face it as one. I didn't know what to do but cry. Tyler, I always supported the lgbt community and I was devastated even as a supporter. I see how much a family the community is online and in real life. I am sorry for the families and everyone involved. Our world is cruel. But we must all face it together. That is all. NOW WHERE ARE THE TISSUES.

There was a couple of Christian gay guys on Survivor a few seasons a go. They helped a lot of people with religious families come out. Just for a boost of support.

Honestly, this all just makes me sad, angry, and horrified. I'm only 14, and I think our country is in deep trouble. Every candidate running for president pretty much sucks, everyone's arguing over the second amendment, and don't even get me started on the whole LGBTQ+ thing. I used to think I was straight, but I think I might be bisexual. My family is Christian, and I'm worried. My mom said that these types of people aren't going to heaven. Would I burn in hell because I'm Christian but also possibly bi and support gays? That's partially why I'm afraid of admitting. What would my parents think? They don't agree with the LGBTQ+ lifestyle. Also, why are these people so horribly ridiculed and basically labeled as outcasts? We're still human. We can still feel love and love others. That's part of what makes us human. I wish we could love and be free without all this fear and trouble. It's just sad and aggravating.
