In my mind, Rainbow Road is supposed to be special, whimsical even. Hearing this makes me feel like the little boy sat on my parent's sofa, playing Mario Kart for the first time.
Yes, my friend. Indeed... That will be a day long remembered. Although New Super Mario Bros was the first video game I ever played. Then I played this the next day.
0:23 Whenever this plays, I am always driving up the rainbow hill with the sun shining down. Its such a beautiful combination, almost as if it was planned to have this part play when you drive up that final hill
I've noticed that too. It's like your driving up the final hill, you know you've made it to the end, the hill being the last thing that stands between you and the finish line.
You cross the 3rd checkpoint. Hear this masterpiece play, the adrenaline and nostalgia hits as you go throught that spinning vortex tunnel. You either glide over the ramps or go on the ramps. You drive up the rainbow hill, the sun shining down on you as you are about to drift around that big turn and then you drift around the final turn and victory is yours.
Hey. A tip for next time you're that close to someone. Stop worrying about the "racing line" and look for the audio and visual cues that you're about to pick up a drift boost. If one's coming, you have time to position yourself so that you don't self-yeet off the track.
ABSOLUTELY!!! This would be in like my dream final level of Mario Galaxy 3, where they had like the ultimate grand finale with a section that's like a fast paced Star Ball or kart section on a rainbow road where you fly at really fast speeds through space and this plays. Combine that with the Gusty Garden melody as well and...oh my gosh
The Wii theme for Rainbow Road was Mario Galaxy based so is that what you wanted? It's not the same tune nor as good but still, Mario Galaxy based. The problem is thing song won't fit a Mario Galaxy game because the Ost is mainly made of slower orchestra songs. This is too upbeat and electric.
If you listen closely to this music, parts of it do resemble some music from Super Mario Galaxy. This is also true for the Wii Rainbow Road which resembles some of the Good Egg Galaxy theme from SMG. :)
Flashback time! I was playing toad all the time cause he is my favourite. You know how a very few CPUs are always harder then the others? well for me it was always Peach, Rosalina and Koopa troopa. I remember that they were like neck on neck w me, and this final lap was like: OH SH!T LETS GET THIS GOING, I went super saiyan and this felt like the greatest 30 second battle of my life when I came through the spinning tunnel, all those boost panels/fly things, then the long turn, then the hard to see last turn & then hoping that not one of them gets past me
epic boyo the boyo boyo me too, but wiggler and toad are my rivals, they always appear whenever I’m yoshi and I hated it, they’re always in 2nd, and 3rd place. So I changed to metal Mario and they’re never appeared again. Kinda
6 year old me: sad because i can't win 15 year old me: sad because its too easy after playing for almost 10 years Also 15 year old me: wishing I could go back to the good old days
0:01-0:26 🎵Take my hand and we'll fly right into the morning light, Rainbow Road🎵 🎵Take my hand and we'll fly right into the great BEYOND, RAINBOW ROAD🎵 🎵 TAKE MY HAND AND FLY AWAY🎵
The MK8DX remix is going to slap so hard oh my god I don't even know if I'm ready for this masterpiece of a soundtrack to sound even better (Edit from when Wave 3 was revealed) I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY DID IT BUT MY GOD IT GOES HARD
This is fuckin legendary. Even in 2024, I remember in 2012, I got my 3ds, and with it include Mario kart seven. I always played the special cup was it? And I would get so hyped when this song came on, it brought pure determination into my two year old body, once I hit the final part, I knew shit was gonna get real, real fuckin fast too. My 3ds still works, miraculously, the A button still works on my 3ds and I still to this day dominate bots. I don’t use online play anymore, is it still up? This brought true nostalgia into my body and it gave me chills, thank you Nintendo. For a work of art
Best rainbow road final lap, to this day even with the MK8 version out. Sure the MK8 one is easier to rock out too, but this one get you in the feels. To me It has that feeling of that one scene in Speed Racer where he just flies past everyone in the final leg of the race and is in the zone.
This is honestly my favorite track In the entire series! Like this particular rainbow road! Mario Kart 7 may not be my favorite Mario kart game, but Mario kart 7 has the best rainbow road, especially the music
@@comfy88338 SNES one isn't awful, just not the best. Of the 5 RRs ive played its number 4 (but miles ahead of #5) 1. 3DS RR 2. N64 2. Wii 4. SNES 5. MK8 Wii and N64 Tie. Wii because of the mountain of nostalgia that comes with it. I mean literal mountain. N64 is just that great though, and the music obviously reminded me of 3DS RR, which has even more nostalgia but is also just that good.
I still can’t believe this game is nine years old already... I feel so old (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`) I remember the first time I played Mario Kart 7, it was on my 7th birthday... one of the only games that holds such a special place in my heart along with Mario Kart Double Dash. Those games hold so much sentimental value to me.
Final lap of the final race on the final track with this beautiful music there's only one thing you can do Keep your foot on the pedal and race with everything you have
Not many tracks made me forget I needed to race… but, damn, this rainbow road had so beautifully made music, my jaw just fell open when I first played it
Do you ever have your childhood nostalgia hit you harder than a blue shell, and you just wish you could be a kid again, and you want to cry, but you legit physically can’t?
*Patiently waiting for the best Rainbow Road to return* Got my wish, and it looks fantastic! Also, I think this is one of the best “final lap” themes in Mario Kart!
Man can't believe it's been ten years this game was released. This theme song makes me want to cry. So nostalgic I remember, getting a 3ds along with Mario kart 7 and super Mario 3d world. I still have those games but not my 3ds. I wish I could go back to 2011.
I love how in Mario Kart Tour this track is not only the only one to have 3 laps, but also how they decided not to alter the pitch of the final lap at all, which I think was the right call. But anyways, I have to say, Mario Kart 7s Rainbow Road has to be one of, if not the BEST Rainbow Road of all time. The Music is great, the difficulty level is just right, and finally, the track design is absolutely fantastic. It's ticking all the right boxes. Out of all the tracks in the entirety of Mario Kart 7, this one has to be the best one, there's no debating that. Heck, not even the retro tracks come anywhere close to being anywhere near as good. The only retro tracks in 7 that come anywhere close to being nearly as fun as it's Rainbow Road have to be Wii Koopa Cape, Wii Maple Treeway, DS Airship Fortress, and SNES Rainbow Road.
@@marcosortega3350 I think FattyMuffin meant the normal Rainbow Road 7 (the other version of this song), but I don't know. It is lovely though, isn't it?
There's also Mario Kart Tour, which currently has this track available at the time of me writing this comment. This track is the only one in that game to have kept the final lap music, as the rest of them have an even higher pitch.
I still remember the day MK7 came out, I was following the game for a full year at that point, and of course a school event and family party fell on that exact day. It was so frustrating waiting through the day, but as soon as I started playing, it felt worth it
I remember playing this for the first time about 9/10 years ago, since then this has been my favourite track in the entirety of MK7. I liked it so much that I'd only play time trials for hours on end just to hear the music, good times :')
Here u r, on the final lap, with everyone cheering u on, coming off the final corner against ur greatest racing rival for the championship, u must win to help with ur friends’ and family’s and hometown’s suffering, if not you’ll all die in hunger or thirst, u edge ur rival to take home the checkered flag by 0.001 of a second. U saved ur family, best friend, girlfriend and whoever is in need of the winning money to start anew. Ur hometown welcomes u home with a celebration like never before for bringing home the funds to save ur people in need. And now ur poor hometown has now become an empire, all thanks to u.
This and Mario Kart 8's remix of N64 Rainbow Road making the final lap section start at the highlight of the music just make it so much better edit: now 3DS Rainbow Road is on DLC too and it also does this and the track itself is gorgeous
@@Teilz. this is basically confirmed now since the starting part of the music was found in the game files when wave 2 released (it will probably be next wave!)
