I remember when this song "Stone Cold" by Rainbow first came out in 1982. And I thought to myself "Dang, another great song by Deep Purple/Rainbow with yet another great singer from the Deep Purple clan. Joe Lynn Turner's extremely smooth voice, impeccable pitch and tone, and perfect range for a soul rock blues pop song. And it was kind of unusual and a departure from a lot of the progressive music Deep Purple was known for and moving into the space of more radio-friendly music.
When I asked Kayla "What song would you like to do next?" and she said: "Stone Cold by Rainbow", I was surprised that she, as a 28-year-old Texas girl, even knew what that song was! But I shouldn't be surprised because greatness attracts greatness. So we thought we would take on this great epic, timeless piece! Let us know how we did!

This track from Rainbow has always been my favorite. I even met Rainbow band in person when this song came out. I was a cab driver in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the drummer and his girlfriend were late for the concert and I actually drove them to the Tulsa Civic Center in my cab. I have always loved this song and Kayla has done such an exceptional job at this song. Can’t wait to hear more from her. I’m now one of her biggest fans! Keep Rockin Kayla!

Holy Smokes! i was just practising this song the other day :D ( with cover by Bonfire :) ) Kayla has totally smashed it! Bravo! ))) Love from Russia ( i know i know it sounds wierd, but no to war, make love , not war - my standing on this, just in case). Ken, this absolutely one of my all time favorite 80s songs..And Kayla did a superd take on it👍...Joe Lynn Turner is a member of the deepest era of rock vocalists ever..and didnt seem to get the deserved acclaim others got, like Steve Perry, Mickey Thomas, Lou Gramm...also Blackmore's solo is probably my #1 favorite of his leads..cant describe why, really...it just emotes in a way, just soulful and tasty.. with trademark Blackmore chops...wish this song was back in radio stations' rotations again..and again, great job, Kayla!
