If you google TIST charts, you will see the actual arrival and departure charts for St. Thomas. There are no arrival procedures for rwy 28. The runway does not the meet obstruction clearance criteria. A high mountain at the approach end of rwy 28. This mountain is sometimes a problem for rwy 10 departures, especially if you have a problem during takeoff from rwy 10.
Most airliners parked, have their red -green navigation lights on whilst on the ground. They turn on their red rotating beacon when they are ready to start their engines.
I appreciate this all went on 8 or so months ago, but I would love to know how you resolved the TAB674 issue. Did you switch over to 28 and he was OK to go with that? Also wondering about DEN1424 that was on final - just tell him to contact departure and he'll eventually muddle his way around to an approach on 28? Then there's MAX8201, I know you had cleared him to take off behind next landing. Now he's out on the end of Rwy. 10. I have no idea how to resolve a situation like that, if he had just sat there refusing takeoff because of the wind. How do I get him taxied all the way down to 28? And finally (ha ha) the "manual" includes an instruction "Cancel Takeoff". Absolutely no information about how it is used. Do you know how to use it, and when? Thanks!
I had the same reaction when I first watched Jeff Favignano playing Tower3DPro, but once you get used to it, it almost becomes muscle memory 😊 It's easy to get or create cheat sheets too, for the commands you use.
@SLPW Production yes all good , used cheat sheets for a while but after time no longer needed them. I don't think I'll ever be a professional air traffic controller but it's fun 😀
Just a query?, are you restricting the departure to climb to 1000, then contact departure? Usually pilots use 1000 ft, as the safe altitude whilst they are cleaning up their aircraft, then they contact departure. You should say, ex: Denali1234, after passing 1000, contact departure or just, Denali 1234 contact departure. The pilot will do it when he is able.
Hi Ruben, thanks for all the advice. If you watch through the rest of the videos I've done you'll see that most of your points have been addressed already 😊
@@ChazDraycott Ok, thanks Chaz, I just came across your site, and now purchasing this sim., I retired from ATC after 34 wonderful years. Be glad to answer any query's you may have, With Tower, Radar approach control, En route control, or just knowing what goes on with ATC.
Yeaahh, I don't know why in the world I didn't even think to do that! I feel that because it was a "mission" in the career mode, my mind felt like I was fixed in those conditions.
