I stumbled upon a car show featuring mainly Ford sports cars behind the Metropole Hotel in Blackpool. The weather has also turned quite changeable. If you like what I do, you can make a donation to my PayPal at paypal.me/Step...
I love the old cars, they look fantastic and are so easy to recognise. I can't tell the difference between cars these days, they all look the same to me, all a rounded shape
The Blackpool Ford weekend used to be the highlight of our clubs year. We showed in 2006, 2007, 2008.... and then 2009 was cancelled and we ended up tagging along with another organisers show at Lytham. In 2008 we had 18 cars from our club showing...that was probably the best year, with over 400 classic Fords attending. After that we stopped going as it just wasnt the same - I had mk3 Ford Escort cabriolets back then, but ended up showing my 1978 MGBGT in 2009 instead. We always made a weekend of it, staying at the Imperial, hitting the camel racing at the arcades, drinking at the Bispham Hotel, moving onto Reflex.... they were fantastic days indeed
Quite a lot of nice cars some I remember as a child to bad the weather wasn’t a wee bit better but looked like a good turnout 👍 Thanks again Stephen for another great video 😃
What a video Stephen awesome rainbow then a storm, I had a 1600 gt cortina back in the day, I like the Ford escorts I like this video with the cars cheers Stephen.
Great video Stephen I do like the Ford focus they are my favourite car in blue it great to see old cars I can't wait for next video I hope you and your family and friends are well and safe
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always that rainbow was stunning them cars were nice they don't make them like that now have a great evening xx
Stephen you hit the nail on the head. We don't go watching the Rallies anymore because they have killed them off. Stopped Lombard/. Network Q . Doing the proper route. Peak District everything. You Know what I mean. I remember watching Top Gear Rally report back in the day in a layby in Buxton filming the cars. Those days are gone. They need to come back.👍
Some great looking cars there Stephen thanks for sharing the video with us all. Can't believe how much the Sierra Cosworth whale tails are making today, I very nearly bought one way back in the early 90s but the insurance was insane.👍
Hi stephen, that takes me back the ford shows. i had 2 fords a mark 1 escort in red, also a mark 2 cortina, i gave her a coat of brush paint in blue. the old ones kept running with lots of miles on the clock. 😄great video tthanks.
That was brilliant Stephen you know your Ford cars i love looking at classic cars pity about the weather i was out in that rain further up the country showers and sunshine up north.
My parents had a dark green Ford Anglier when I was a toldler. I love those classic cars. my dad owned many capris plus the escorts and cortina. The 2.8i Capri was my favourite. Not sure why you didn't like the Capri🤔 the shape was awesome.
It was called the Fly.... Crayford did the conversion, and around 200 were built. Crayford also built convertible versions of the Cortina and Capri, before Karmann took over converting the Escorts x
Great video vlog. Back in 1984 I had my first car a 1973 MKII Ford Cortina GT. I owned it for about four years before replacing it with a MKIII Cortina GL, nowhere near as good as my GT. It would be several years later, (and cars), before I got a super luxurious Ford Granada. That didn’t last long so I splashed out on my dream car a 1982 Lotus Esprit a real classic in British Racing Green, although it did drain my bank account at the time. Owned for around three years before taking the plunge into the world of campervans and regretted it. Anyway nice video Stephen.
Nice to see you out and about just sir, I kept away in case you were filming but nice of you to say hello :) - I will catch up with this one when back home in Wales after a nice day in Blackpool.
Thank you Stephen for showing us the Ford car show in Blackpool today..l used to own Ford Escort Mk1 and capri..l still remembered i passed my driving test with Ford Escort during those days..
I inherited my dad's old MkII Ford Escort estate in orange. Passed my test in an Austin Metro, which only had 4 gears. I always joke that I never learnt how to get into 5th gear!
next show in blackpool is over at the island in st anns at the lifeboat station 2nd oct .and on the beach aswell are rally cross bikes .and classic cars
I love the old fords my favourite is the rs200 rally car vertically none about even at the shows , there’s more replicas than originals unfortunately, great video Stephen 👍
Great Video Stephen. The Xr4i was the first “ fast “ Sierra as they came out around 1984 with the 3 Door Cosworth following around 1986. The XR2 convertable is a Mk 1 Fiesta &, like another viewer has said, a very, very rare car. You are correct with the Sapphire Cosworth being the later one with the Bonnet Vents but it’s actually a 4x4 as they stopped making the 2wd ones and added the Bonnet Vents as part of the 4x4 package. That 3dr Sierra ( not the Cosworth lookalike ) is probably rarer than an actual Whale Tail Cosworth as most have been made into lookalike like the one who’s owner you spoke to so very few basic spec ones left I suspect.
Great vlog Stephen, loved seeing all the cars I grew up with, I had Escort mk2, Escort mk3, Fiesta Xr2, Fiesta RS turbo.. I've always wanted the Focus RS, but other things got in the way lol.. I had the opportunity back in the 90s to buy Sierra cosworth for £3600! but ended up with Fiesta RS.. slightly off topic, I was hoping you were gonna talk about the current hotel guests at the Metropole.. another time.... enjoyed seeing the classic ford cars mate 👍
Stephen you know a lot about the different Fords. That enormous black Lincoln was a Mark IV, which was an absurdly large car. My mother had one back in the day, an absolute petrol guzzler maybe four miles to a litre.
