I recently stayed at a lovely riverfront cottage in a small town in the Burgundy countryside. A rainstorm ushered in the autumn (right on time - this was recorded at the end of September 2022), and I decided to have a cozy afternoon sipping tea and reading a novel in the lounge. I opened the window to better hear the rain, and I recorded it on my phone so that you could join me (and so that I could always come back, even from afar).
The heavy rain is only about the first third of the video, and after that it eases up but still comes and goes amid the birds, the church bells, the occasional car driving by on a distant road, and my refilling my tea.
This isn't a compilation of stock/synthetic sounds or a professional recording -- it's just my iPhone and a typical fall day from this lovely place. It's only very lightly edited (to remove a sneeze or two). The video is a slideshow of photos taken of the cottage and the town.
