I love rainy days. That is a beautiful shot you took of the rain amidst the trees from across your deck. Such beauty around you. When there's a big storm coming, Sydney can watch the little animals scurry for cover. And everything is so green and fresh when the sun comes out. The entire northeast region is getting this rain. Much needed it is, too, before the deep freeze. Whatever new globe you get for your kitchen overhead light, be sure to have extra light bulbs around for when the current one dies. A kitchen is a particularly dangerous place for working with inadequate light. OK, you're making me hungry. Now I have to go make something. LOL. We all know that running is an outdoor activity and never around a swimming pool or the like. Watching Sydney talk to the plush toy puppy in time-out about this was too funny for words. At least you know she is paying attention to your admonitions. I love your side window curtains open near the dining/computing area with the big tree outside and all that light coming in. It's a lovely view. You get to see the colorful trees across the street. It is a happy autumn tableau. There is no escape from laundry and dishes. Play a board game together while you are waiting for dinner to be ready. It doesn't have to be another crafty activity. Or play a card game together for a bit. They are easy to end when supper calls. And a board game you can leave up on the coffee table and go back to it after supper to wind down a bit before bedtime. Just out of interest: what was it about the supper you cooked that did not please your taste buds? You did not really critique it specifically. Too salty with onion salt? Too dairy with cream cheese? Just not quite Buffalo chicken-y enough? Not enough kick? I sometimes try your crock pot recipes, so might try this. No garlic bread with pasta! I got such a kick out of Sydney heading right for the butter. Did Sydney like the pasta? You need days when you don't have to be pumped up for work or activities or chores, too. It is nice to share a lazy day in the rain, too. There are those of us who don't watch the perfect people who spend all their time doing their hair and make-up and wardrobe and decor. Real people living real life are more interesting.
