Please do a reaction to Jinjer "Retrospection" Live in Kiev 2019 as Tatiana and her band return to their homeland for their best and most energetic concert yet!

I like your take on this, it made me think deeper about the themes of the show. I heard so many people raving about this show and they loved it, but I have mixed feelings on it. I'm not sure I would bother to watch a second season if there is one.

Hi, I think, your are right and it is a kind of bridge or multi-versal jump to the Scott's Alien/Prometheus world - there were the space-jockey's helmets and the snake-like being in the final part of season 1 for example. And in the Alien: Revenant, the idea of android's longevity and supremacy over their human "parents" was accented too. Let's wait for the next Ridley Scott movie - maybe, it will intertwine the existing lines and we will be blown away by his (and his son's) vision. Speaking of necromancers, I think the first book or movie reference I heard was related to J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings and they were the embodiments of Sauron, but it surelly goes deeper in the history - Egyptian or Greek mythology at least. I watched the last episode of RBW with my mouth opened. I must confess, that I didn't digest it fully yet - the emotion and atmosphere of the show are still lingering in my mind and are sooo much stronger than any need of logical outcome/closure - that's why I didn't analyze it in such detail as you did. So thank you for the review - it's encouraging me to do the logical justification part for myself, too. The soundtrack was fabulous (hand in hand with the visual finesse of the imagery) as you mentioned - I'm a sucker for the movie sountracks (especially the symphonic ones). I trully loved the opening credits ❤ The only thing that bothered me was Travis Fimmel and his endless repetitions of the Ragnar Lothbrock character from The Vikings show (his pose somehow reminds me of an older and more bearded version of permanently fainting Frodo from the LOTR :P ). Thank you again for your thorough and dedicated review 👌 Have a nice day and a good start to the oncoming week ⛭

Oh wow yes. So much I want to discuss! _Yeah, I had no idea Scott's worlds were intertwined like that. The continuity and themes are throughout everything I've seen in his work and it's an adventure to figure out how it's ultimately connected if it is timeline wise. _You know I was trying to figure out where I've head that term (necromancer) before and it must've been from LOTR! Ughh I need to rewatch the entire series! It inspired so much, the books and the movies bringing it to life are such a unique experience. _I feel like I only digested the surface. This show is more complicated than it seems. _I haven't seen The Vikings but the images I've seen look like the exact same character: pained/concerned face. Travis seems great at playing agonized characters in constant turmoil lol. Thanks for your comment:) Enjoyed reading!

FYI, in case it may be of interest, I wrote a book titled, "Raised By Wolves: War of the World-Views: An Examination of Season One of the Aaron Guzikowski and Ridley Scott Show": truefreethinker.com/articles/new-book-raised-wolves-war-world-views-ken-ammi

always good to see you. concerning "raised by wolves": first I thought, oh it´s just another "arriving on a strange planet and trying to survive against hostile aliens and humans" thing. I should have known better, because ridley scott, my favourite director since "alien" and "bladerunner", was involved. I really liked the strong pragmatic female character of mother. sometimes a bit inhuman at the beginning, of course. amanda collin did a brilliant job. and again the question, which was already the theme in "bladerunner": where does artificial intelligence end and being human begin? the idea of mother becoming pregnant was brilliant. I was totally surprised. the "baby" was, like you said, a bit disappointing. very good the opposition of religion and atheism. as i understand, the religious fanatism has led to the wars on earth and it´s destruction. so I found the idea, to raise kids without religion by two completely objective atheistic androids intrigueing. the series also showed the great danger of religion, how religion can be misused by a few, to get their own benefits and profit from that. is religion per se bad or only because of it´s misuse? I am thrilled to see, how season two will be, because there are new arrivals. since you like smart scifi: did you see "the expanse"? bye and be safe.

In this case, definitely! I guess you can't go wrong with an android mother programmed to mother.

Si-Fi is my favorite genre. The show is ok. I think the voices some hear and mother giving birth to the creature might have something to do with the structure on the planet the religious people think that has something to do with their god. It also might have something to do with the little girl that fell into one of those holes. I was hoping to see the person who's shelter they found and has been watching them.

Yes! Me too! I think they're saving that for season two. They seemed to hint at it when they showed his face after spending the entire show disguising it.

They called her a necromancer not the necromancer. Naturally there's others.

That's true. I'm looking forward to them possibly introducing the world of necromancers in season 2!

The childrens acting really wasn't the best. At first I thought the kid playing Campion was overacting but gradually came to see him as acting too much like an adult rather than the age Campion was. I guess that being raised by androids could affect Campions way of coming across though. I'll watch season 2 but ultimately still unsure of the show.

Agreed. It looks like he might be sticking around for season two since the last episode ended with a shot of his face. Let's see if his character goes in a different direction.
