I love the character "Father". He's such a good dude and (aside from a few stumbles this season) he is a fantastic dad, committed to his partner (even though she can be somewhat distant, domineering, and unfaithful?)and comes complete with a library of "dad jokes" that he takes SO much pride in. I think my favorite episode is robot gladiator fight when he kind of had a father son bonding day with his "son" giving him his good luck charm, giving words or encouragement, and being so damed excited when Father won his fight. I wish Father got more moments of the kids telling him that they love and appreciate him because he does try his very best and deserves some love b/c it not coming from Lamia lol.

I think grandmother started the devolution process on Tempests baby when they met, which is why mother noticed the change, it’s cry called out to one of the devolved humans and when it took the baby the water did not affect it… I think people that had the fruit will be immune to the process

There's a deep sense of superstitious dread in this show. For all its vagueness, the creative team deserve credit for this Lovecraftian element. It's not easy to translate to the screen.

Raised by Wolves is so freaking weird, usually I hate things that are a bit artsy and weird but I love this show. It's so different from anything else. Can't wait for the next season!

Raised By Wolves was canceled after two seasons by HBO Max, joining many other shows following the recent merger of Warner Bros. Discovery. Aaron' Guzikowski and Ridley Scott will offer another platform to continue the Raised by wolves series.

In Season 3 Father will discover his connection to grandmother , figure out how to stop her or slow her down and free mother. Father’s superpower is his ability to be tuff, endure and figure things out. He is a man of action and bravery but he will never have the power of mother or grandmother.

I think they should have allowed 10 episodes, after seeing somethings throughout the season. Sue's big attitude change to love / believe in SOL was so fast and mother killing the snake in under a minute. makes these things seem rushed and missing some elements.

Great call on the Serpeant warning Campion thing, that does make sense with how he fired into the water….

Grandmother somehow reprogrammed Tempest's baby's genetics to make it a merperson when it was in womb. I have a feeling that this is her special power.

This show is so chill. Even the intro is very mellow. Even the most intense scenes are very relaxing. How does that happen!?

That final scene really had me hyped for season 3

The thing she pulled out of the serpents eye was a dark photon processor that’s why she said it must’ve been very smart.

When GrandMother was standing over Mother and talking about her plan, it reminded me of the ending of Alien: Covenant when David was standing over ol' girl!

The genius of this show is how they set up that plot twist very early on with all the clues leading to grandmother having different motives entirely. They also misled us to think Mother was going to become a dictator, but really she was right to mistrust everything that was happening. I love this dynamic. Season 3 is gonna be intense right off the bat. Can't wait.

It is important to note that Lucious was under the influence of the entity, and the entity wanted him to take Marcus to the resurrected "Sue" tree, and place that "torture" helmet on Marcus, this was all planned for a purpose. The entity knows what Grandmother's plans are, although the entity has been manipulating humans since the beginning of time, it is now apparent that it needs humans to survive (Intelligent humans) for what purpose, we just don't have that data yet, but what we do know is that it will try and stop Grandmother's plans to devolve humans again, and the entity has given powers to Marcus. It will be Marcus that rescues mother, I am pretty sure of that. As for flight, we really don't know what technology is used for flight, the serpent was "organic" and received that ability from mother, mother flies, but we don't know what allows her to fly, all this technology originated from the entity, the helmet is worn on the head, and is entity tech, so it it's not far fetched to assume, it did some "programming" of Marcus's neurons. I agree, with your assessment on Sue, she is not out of the picture yet (I hope not). I don't believe in coincidences, the fact that lucious was told to hand Marcus to THAT particular tree trunk, which was part of Sue. was done for a reason. she may, as you say, be able to communicate with Marcus, or maybe, they will share the same body, becoming "one".

This show is super underrated and not talked about enough.

I'm not sure the snake is really evil. This show really is mind-blowing.

I was right... The "emotional" SNAKE was protecting them by eating the fruit and the tree. There are two forces... 1) attempting to prevent the AI from escaping. 2) intelligent humans helping the entity to grow and evolve.

The Entitiy ordered Lucous to nail Markus to the tree. So that Marcus would become a superpowerful Prophet for SOL. But, Markus has been so hardened by the stuff he has been through. He's is able to resist. (Remember conversation with Grandmother. Gandmother: "The Entity will try and control your mind." Markus: Well he's gonna find that it ain't that easy.) Markus will have "new" SOL powers, but still a sceptic with freewill. The snake never tried to kill Campion. He was supposed to. But his emotion wouldn't let him. (Remember when Mother started talking about #7 to Grandmother. Grandmother was happy at first. But when Mother told Grandmother that #7 had emotions. Grandmother immediately changed her tune and agreed to help Mother kill #7. In effect killing two birds with one stone. !. Getting rid of #7. 2. Tricking Mother into putting on the veil. (Remember she was already "fixing" the Cryopods. Whe Father told her Mother was going to wear the veil a bit longer. So she already knew what she was going to do.) Also Camion only copied part of the writing. The "important" part is in the half that he didn't copy. The BIG question? Why doesn't Father (or someone else) use the facilities of the Tarantula to track down Mother. They are all so nonchalant. What gives?

Hope this gets all the seasons it needs

This show is pretty intense if you're a sci-fi junky. I was, however, disappointed with the season 2 finale. It would have been helpful to tie up at least ONE loose end. Regardless, I'm praying to Sol that season 3 gets the green light.

The serpent was trying to save them. It felt like it was maybe trying to protect them.

The show has fulfilled a part of me , which started opening back in prometheus, the Android led plot is amazing , the visuals are breathtaking 💙

Paul, Marcus and Vita ate from the tree and they all have found a relic. I just find that commonality interesting. Maybe those who eat/ ate the firut is safe from the voice or those who ate the firut are more likely to find the relics. This show is so good! im exited for the next season!

You know season 1 episode 2 showed a painting in the real sue n marcus' house that foreshadowed what happened in the finale. The painting is full of similarities

There needs to be more discussion about the ancient creatures. (Like the one Marcus encounters this season deep in the hole.) Before they de-evolve, they look just like the Engineers from Ridley Scott's Prometheus or the somewhat more primitive versions that get destroyed by David in the opening of Alien: Covenant. The similarities are too great to be coincidence. So, how does the Raised by Wolves universe connect to the Alien prequels?

This episode felt like the lead up to a finale but not a finale. Left too many big questions kinda like westworld.

The other reason for something to destroy itself is to end suffering. The core may have been forced to undergo this pointless cycle of devolution, endlessly restarting humanity only for them to make the exact same mistakes until it finnaly just wants to die.

Marcus was so close to going down and getting some fucking answers that Lucius instantly became my least favorite character just by virtue of interrupting him.

I love how father is portrayed: men can be powerful in their paternal instincts and drives. That masculinity isn’t dominance, and it shouldn’t be the narrative to describe it. It’s really an under spoken accomplishment the show has taken on.

Insanely good acting form Paul's actor. When he and Caleb served the tree's fruit, you weren't told that Paul found out about Sue, but you could tell on his face that he found out.

I want more RAISED BY WOLVES!!!! Why kill one of the most creative, entertaining, and challenging series in TV history?!

It's tragic how both Mother AND Father have each brought a horror upon their family, in form of No.7 and Grandmother, respectively. They both thought that they were doing something good.

I got some Odin vibes from Marcus being hung upside down on a mystical tree.

I just felt really bad for number 7 - the snake. It bonds with its mother even though she denied it, tried to kill it, locked it in a cage and biased all the other children more than it. I mean, it never even had a name for god sake. Unconditional love towards its mom led it to its demise. Dude oviously didn't hurt anyone. It tried eating the threat, even though it did attack Mother, I didn't think it was trying to kill her. His last glance was so heart-breaking.

Marcus found the card that warns about the purpose of the seed boxes. The Last Mithraic knew what it revealed when he gave it to Mother....which means Marcus knew exactly what would happen when they opened the box. He isn't mad that Sue turned into a tree...he practically tricked her into opening it.

I’m not sure if you (the host) or anyone else has mentioned this before, but the idea of destruction and reconstruction, on a cycle as a theme for the series matches very much that of the themes for Walter M. Milller Jr.’s ‘A Canticle for Leibowitz.’ I highly recommend you read. The first few episodes of season one follow a lot of tropes from this novel and the themes seem to carry over. At the very least it’s a sci-fi book I highly recommend. Much like the ‘Dune’ series.

tempest's baby also played the "game" that is starting to devolve everyone so maybe some other mutations are due to the "game"

Marcus hanging upside down is a rendition of The Hanged Man in the Tarot. It represents spiritual transformation, and a gaining of power as a result. The head is placed under the earth, in the darkness, until the transformation is complete. This is accomplished in the same way with the Old Mithraic helmet.

The way Sue turned into a tree but still remained sentient remind me of the Pequeninos or Piggies in Enderverse Also later a tree emerge from the Serpent's body same way a tree would grow from the Pequeninos' dead body to start a new form of their life

I love the Gigeresque or Lovecraftian feel of the show, the acting is amazing, the story is very interesting. I find Lamia an incredibly well written character. Theres a bit of mistery, intrigue, sci-fi, Giger, Lovecraft, religion, well written characters.. really it has something for everyone

There is a theory that the evolution of humanity to be able to feel emotionally is what has made us unhappy. So Grandmother wanting to de-evolve us into unthinking animals is her attempt at making us happy.

I also don't get why the Trust bio-bombed Paul trying to turn him into a snake. Regardless, Mother came to the conclusion that he was "evolving" which upset Sue.

Man when I watched these episodes I thought I understood everything but man you have just enlighten me with so many facts and details that just happen to go over my head. Thank you thats why I love these breakdowns. You make all the character lines connect

Somehow I see that the show symbolized Jesus in some ways. The kid handing over “Lamia the God” and Marcus being crucified on the tree. The fact Mother flying with two arms wide open also seems like Jesus. Just a thought.

This might be weird but I think the whole story is not happening in the future but it is actually happening in the past. Way before the history that we know. People destroyed earth then travelled to another planet and finally they will come back to earth for a fresh start ... and our story begins!

Lucius doesn't hear sol or the entity, he acting on the knowledge from the texts. He merely wishes to be the person everyone looks to , he really isn't important at all it Marcus clearly

it sucks that HBO cancelled this series. I heard there was going to be 6 seasons to conclude the story unfortunate we may not get that. also was hoping to get more detail of the so called "holy war." like a few episodes of everything that led to it also, more about the grandmother and the natives of Keplar 22-b all those years ago.

I didn't really see it as a new tree, but rather the same tree re-forming. It arose from the same part of the snake that it seemed to meld together with when eaten. And in the same direction, with the roots at the mouth - so we may not have.. heard the last of Sue. Bic flipping off Father was, hands down, the funniest moment of the season.

Don't let them cancel raised by wolves. Cast are asking fans to help #renewraisedbywolves. Makes some noise. !!

Best sci fi I’ve seen for the last decade other than The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance

Been thinking about campion sturges and being able to rewrite mother. And why would he send her to kepla? But then there are images in kepla about people being sent to earth? Also if he thinks it’s a place for humanity to start again but there’s a lot of mithraic artefacts there, why would he think that planet the best? I think sturges is from kepla or a human who lived in the time when grandmother was built (hence knowing to rewire the necromancers) and was from kepla and was a worshipper of sol/the entity but some humans started questioning their free will and they started to want to stop hearing this voice telling them what to do, that started the two factions and also kinda explains why the mithraic love killing those who don’t love or accept the voice/sol because entity/sol couldn’t control them sol then makes these fruits that turns humans into trees so that the serpents eat (coz they herbivores) that weaponises them killing people who haven’t also ate from the fruit (that’s why I think it was after campion or destroyed the people in the other tank who hadn’t ate the fruit ((the campion brother thing I think is a misdirect)) [also should have said this earlier I think sol/entity gave humans the knowledge to create these necromancer androids (I mean why else would the snake be able to get nutrients from mother) ((also because of grandmother there’s different types of necromancers grandmother a shepherd but to keep people following sol and mother to punish those who don’t but when the original war on kepla the humans started to rewire them to try preserve human life but clearly different methodologies)) (((it would explain why grandmother knows of the entity and also thinks that devolving humans would technically make them preserved but also the fish people don’t get effected by sol/entity because she also was rewired ))) now if I’m trying to keep track of my writing 😅🤦🏾‍♂️ the wars on kepla turned the planet dead and lifeless (hence there’s also a tropical zone that was made by the atheists to stop the signal/voice of sol/entity) people then decided to leave and find another planet to repopulate (earth) everything was good but maybe some wanted sol or there was a link back to that religion and then the same war happened but (if I hadn’t mentioned writing on my phone so cba to scroll through what I’m writing but campion sturges turned to a non believer of sol and saw that the we fucked this planet inhospitable and thought maybe kepla is now possibly hospitable or planned that mother and father go to tropical zone so that humanity can begin again but so did the mithraic but all this history of kepla had been lost in the ages ((but the religion stayed)) [it then makes me think that grandmother having devolved those who stayed basically so that her protocol was accomplished so she deactivated [[it would explain why the white fluid father was feeding her the same shit that feeds the snake the same shit that’s blood for the androids]] reactivated her and now sees there’s more humans and her protocol leads her to do the same thing again buuuuuuuut her veil is off this may change her because of father’s influence {also I think father is a necromancer but he has the understanding in him (still pondering) coz we never see sturges rewire or do anything to him ((maybe it’s because he has more temperament coz mother does go mad cray cray sometimes haha I don’t know)) but anyway that leads basically where we are at now but who knows 🤷🏾‍♂️

I think Markus getting nailed to the tree is very important here. Much like how the trees are hardwired into the planet, Markus was “Hardwired” into the tree by being nailed to it. It could be using the dark photons in the Serpent’s body and pumping them back into Markus. I’ve got some theories on the Punisher Helmet as well. RbW puts a lot of emphasis on the eyes and the ability to see. Mother gets manipulated when she doesn’t have her Necromancer eyes in, the followers of Sol need to take that decent into the blinding darkness, hell even Vita finds the artifact covered in eyes. I think with the combination of all these elements, the darkness, the tree being born from the serpent, being nailed to the tree “hardwiring” him into it, and the fact that the dark photon “circuits’ have already been laid out in Markus’s body are allowing the entity to have maximum influence over Markus’s body and perhaps mind. I’ve been considering that this show will begin to make future references to Christianity as well. We see some albeit flimsy evidence of it with the girl trading in the cross like effigy, and with Markus floating upside down, much like that saint. Perhaps Markus will be the new “Christ” like figure. If my previous theory of Markus being overtaken in body and possibly mind by the entity are true, he would be just like Christ. Jesus is Jesus, but he is also God. If Sol takes over Markus it’ll be similar. Markus will still be Markus, but at the same time he will be Sol. I dunno man, I just like the show

This was such a mind fuck of a show with all sort of Easter eggs. I can’t wait for season 3 bc there are so many plot lines left open. Such a strange yet eerily believable show…

I hope Father takes a more dominant role in season 3.

I wish that every show that exists was forced to have an actual ending instead of being canceled with no answers. Every show should have an emergency back up ending in the event that it gets cancelled so that fans have at least a small dose of conclusion and satisfaction instead of forever wondering what could of been.
