I love Polin. I also enjoyed Lord Deblin, Cressida and John Sterling's scenes. I actually wish for more Cressida and Francesca. They both seem more interesting and in depth ladies than meets the eye. Eloise annoyed me. She's smart enough to understand Lady Whistledown she just refuses to do so.
I loved it. I could not bear if it was 100% Pen and Colin. Season 1 showed us Anthony’s affair with the singer, Benedict’s affair with the modiste, and Colin falling in love with the pregnant cousin so I don’t mind learning Francesca’s backstory about how she met her husband, and Benedict is just being Benedict, in this season.
I have to say all this talk of season 4 has got me hoping because honestly, part 1 of season 3 was a huge disappointment! The only truly swoon worthy scene of course was the infamous " carriage scene " at the very end!!! Granted the initial hinting and revelations of NEW titles etc was fun but I found that a 4 episode season could have easily been run in 2 episode beginning with suspense of " other " storylines being developed. Honestly breaking the season in to 2 parts is nothing more than click bait! Very disappointing. 😔
I didn’t like this like this guy didn’t grovel like?? You realised you liked her after you kissed her then everything changed like?? Noooooo second two many main character I wanted this to be Penelope season third it’s seems rushed like I would actually like to see why Colin fell for pen like seeing pen ch age from a girl to a woman and seeing Colin come to terms with his feelings but it’s too late but not really like I need to seem him actually develop his feelings more like it seems rushed like he missed her then bam ?. Where is the ANGST honestly I feel like Wattpad writers can do a much better job because them books made me stay till 8 am in the morning this season wasn’t it for me it seems rushed, forced and too many main characters it’s annoying to invest in someone then we have other people being the main character as well we had Francesca, pens sisters, the girl who bullies pen, we had Benedict ahh too much am here for pen season am so disappointed and I feel like am gonna get hate for this but am standing on this hill this season wasn’t it like give us what you gave us on season two the angst like where is that here? Ahhh so annoyed
Oh come on it’s so obvious and ridiculous. Just like commercials. Blk & Wht. Blk & Wht. Give us a break. Not racist just don’t like things stuffed down my throat.
I didn't really love part 1. Penelope came off really pathetic. I didn't like that she said she wanted to be more than friends. I felt like he should have laid it on thick at that point . He should have said that to her
Great recap. Starting season 2 now. Needed that. And you are so right about Dark! My wife and I’s favorite show. Also the OA but that was unfortunately canceled after season 2.
The storyline involving bill and his son was so Intriguing. What a dilemma for him to be in. Knowing serial killer traits and behaviour he must have been torn between doing something before it could get worse or covering for the child and hoping he will just "grow out of the phase"
Seasons 1-4 is absolute peak TV, the best thing to ever hit the small screen. You feel a sharp decline in writing immediately in season 5, and that decline steepens with each season, and the final season is just so goddamn depressing, what could’ve been…
the last part will be him realizing her true identity and it will cause a fight and they will break it up but then get back together in the last second.... bet my butt on it.
Penelope has always been my favorite character, so I love this season more the others (I actually can't remember anything that stuck from season 2) but this is definitely my type of story x
We know Colin and Penelope will be married by the end of season 3…Lord Debling will most likely get together at some point with Cressida and Lady Violet will get her garden watered with Lady Danbury’s brother.
I wanted more remorse and suffering for Colin. We have watched two seasons of Penelope pining for him and it broke my heart. When he made that comment at the end of S2, I was calling him a man child. I want her to be romanced and treated like a queen!!!!!!!!!
I was expecting more with lord Debling & Penelope from what we were given from the teaser & trailers we’d been given, but him leaving at the end of the 4th episode was disappointing. I did like the adding of Francesca love triangle.
Polin relationship progress felt a tad bit rushed. Though still nice. Francesca love story was cute but what grabbed my attention most was Eloise& Cressida. Especially Cressida character depth this season was refreshing and made me ship her with Lord Debling. Benedict storyline was totally unnecessary.
Buddhist priests wear orange, so the Christian priests were kind of drafting off the "priest" part, so that they'd be easily recognized as religious men. The 1980 version was far closer to the novel, if you read it, including the sea chanty/hornpipe. So, so, so much was different from the novel in the 2024 version. It is a long book, but you really need to read it before comparing the two video versions. The '80 version's loyalty to the novel explains much of what you commented upon in this post.
I wish they stick to the story line from the books. Highly disappointed that Colin didn't discover that Pen was WhistleDown while in the carriage. Disappointing!
Honestly, I felt that Polin didn’t get enough screen time and it came across as though the only reason he proposed was because he enjoyed the kiss, to me. It feels as though he’s kind of (and I’m sorry🤷🏾♀️) operating out of lust. The carriage scene was slightly overhyped and came kind of early in my opinion. Or rather, it felt undeserved. Also the confession… I’m sorry it didn’t hit the way it was meant to. I received more Lord Debling and Penelope content, yet it’s Polin season. Idk. Too many side plots that felt unnecessary like Benedict and Lady Tilly, Lady Danbury’s brother and Violet Bridgerton and last, Francesca. Their storylines are good and worthy of being told but I feel like right now wasn’t the time to tell them as extensively. I really hope part 2 has us see WHO Colin is. WHY his sentiments towards Penelope have changed other than the kiss yk? Plus I needed more groveling from Colin and more lessons which would’ve led them to at least explore more of Colin’s journals and his “purpose”. Also… proper felt rushed. However, love the cast, love Polin’s acting. I feel like there’s chemistry. Just need more of them honestly. Can’t believe I have to wait a month!!!
😂😂i hate myself for reading the book cause i had expectations set high..season 3 just feels rushed.i was really rooting for it..but season 2 is still in the lead...honestly am more invested in Francesca..which i feel so bad about..hope part 2 will be good
Last episode finale is most striking "Does it feel like a long time ago? Blink of an eye." it is like all of our lives, one moment we are live and the next one we are gone like we never existed.
I don't know why ppl seem to love nitpicking so much. Their expectations are sky high I suppose. I loved the new season. Absolutely loved the scenes and the development b/w Colin and Penelope. The carriage scene was just 🔥 and romantic at the same time. Also I'm surprised I didn't find Eliose that cruel as I expected which I love it. They will most likely to reconcile soon though I wonder how Colin will react after knowing that Penelope is Lady Whistledown. The downside I feel is I wasn't invested into that other family with a man having a bar one. Franchesca storyline is okay. Featherington sis are boring while sometimes funny to me. The Bridgertons are always interesting. Yes, I also wished there would be more Polin scenes. A scene or two of them passionately discussing about something then laughing and Colin noticing her smile and just bit by bit realizing that he likes her. And Penelope about how she always loved him. Anyway I'm sure part 2 will cover that up. Overall, I really loved s3, just how I loved the previous seasons. I think ppl could be disappointed because they expected the same but all storylines Re different from one another. I love that difference
1. No one can outdo Kantony ! They were just perfect. 2. Penelope didn't have to come across as being so unsteady and awkward. It is Cressidas third season and she looks so much more confident in comparison. And this is Lady Whistledown we are talking about, not just Penelope! 3. Colin needs to stop making weird faces. He needs to soften those lovers' gazes. Too intense and honestly, he isn't even looking at Pen to convey anything. 4. The featheringtons aren't interesting this season. They haven't given mama bear much spice. 5. While I like how shy or reserved Francesca is, she won over the queen quite easily with a pianoforte? 6. Eloise and Cressida seem strangely paired up. Eloise can clearly see on multiple occasions how Cressida is a farce faced woman, yet she is rather too kind to keep that friendship in place because she is too cross with Pen? 7. Benedict is my least fav main character as of now. He just smiles and falls for the ecentric woman every season. His dreamy smile is repetitive now. 8. Mama bridgerton seems like last season. Loving, reassuring and reasonable! 9. The queen has no zeal to unmask Lady Whistledown?? Why ?! 10. I get the Mondrich plot. New money will mess with their life.
Felt some scenes lack depth- anticlimactic. I was actually anticipating that Colin and Pen would argue about his writings, Pen being passionate while Colin feeling proud like a child. I wished that they centered more of Polin like we would still discovering their closeness and chemistry, have extreme fan service from the s3, not like we have to rely on what we have on the previous seasons or with the book. I dont know if you get what I mean.
I don’t see their relationship working out. Even just as you said, Colin would get jealous of Pen’s writing even without knowing she’s Mrs Whistledown and throw a childish fit.
