Does anyone else find it hard not to cry a little at the end? Seeing Hi and Ed tough it out, have a large family, then grow old together? It gets me, every time!

I love Raising Arizona because it’s basically a live action Warner Brothers cartoon. I grew up watching Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck, Foghorn Leghorn, Wile E. Coyote & the Road Runner. All the absurd situations the characters find themselves in, the exaggerations of the characters & scenes, the chase scenes, the explosions & the happy ending where everything works out for the good guys are essential parts of the cartoons & the movie. Such a fun ride

@@rocknroller77two movies that nearly no channels have reacted to: The Thin Red Line from 1998. A fantastic World War 2 movie set the Pacific Theater on the island of Guadalcanal. Star studded cast too. Many people agree that it is better than Saving Private Ryan. Casualties of War from 1989. A Vietnam War movie starring Sean Penn and Michael J. Fox(who is brilliant in one of his few dramatic roles). It a tough movie to watch at times and shows you the first casualty of war is innocence. The soundtrack alone will bring you to tears!

The Lone Biker of the Apocalypse was played by Randall "Tex" Cobb, a boxer who fought Larry Holmes for the heavyweight title on Thanksgiving 1983. (Holmes slammed him all over the ring for 15 rounds, but couldn't knock him out.) He was also a kickboxer, and had several roles in movies and TV. He was intimidating as hell but actually an intelligent and decent man.

This film holds a special place in my family's heart. My older brother and I (not blood related) were both adopted (not stolen) at birth, and my parents saw this movie in theaters about 2 months before my brother was born. Perhaps for them, in the uncertainty of the looming prospect of becoming parents to a child they didn't conceive, it was some small comfort for them to see that even a highly disfunctional couple like H.I. and Ed were able to provide a loving (if not always stable) household to their adopted child.

When I was a sophomore at Vandy in Nashville circa 1993 we used to all hang out and "study" late into the night at the Perkins diner right off campus because you could keep the table as long as you ordered a steady stream of food. Randall Tex Cobb lived in the neighborhood I guess and was an almost nightly fixture at Perkins around 3 am. He was enormous, and usually very wasted drunk. The first time I saw him he busted in the mens room door like his character in Raising Arizona, and we were at adjacent urinals.

If I didn't watch this 100 times, it's close. I actually saw it in the theater the same year as MOONSTRUCK which is another great Nic Cage movie l recommend. That's the best a RomCom can be and his costar is Cher. My mom was a big Nic Cage fan. I feel like after this came out we said "Son, you got a panty on your head" for about 5 years straight. In fact, I've incorporated quite a few things into my permanent vocabulary like 'okay, then' and 'in the p.m.' instead of just saying pm. 😂 Everyone has their favorites but if someone tries to say this isn't in the top five comedies of all-time, I will fight them.

I'd seen him growing up in classic flicks for years but my fave was this. As a teen in the 80s intoroduced to Cave in his first role "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" this is my all time fave Cage & therefore my fave Coen Bros as well. Tex was a cool dude. It was a trip to hear my name called out in the local grocery store only to turn around & see my new friend Leonard Smalls!😅 He still boxed in smaller bouts at the time. Hey now LOL at the beginning when Asia was talking about she wouldn't go to an 80s movie..... That's where the genre of all the movies today stemmed from! Classics ❤

I love it, such a fun film. Nick is one of my favorite actors. Like me hes always going out side of the box and quirky. Some of my favs..."Vally Girl", "Con-Air", "Face-Off", "National Treasue" films, "Peggy Sue got Married" and so, so many more. Thanx so much, stay groovy, Peace

The Biker is played by, Randall "Tex" Cobb. He was a professional heavyweight boxer and kickboxer. A real tough S.O.B. with a granite chin and he's hilarious!

Did you notice Frances McDormand, Marge from Fargo, playing the wife of Hy’s supervisor. She can do anything as an actress. Phenomenal.

This is one of the most kinetically-charged movies of the 80s, and a high-water-mark of the Coen Brothers. Hilariously written, brilliantly shot, and perfectly cast. "We ate sand." "You ate what?" "We ate sand." "You ate SAND?" "That's right." 😂

Good call on this and "O' Brother Where Art Thou" feeling similar. They were both written and directed by The Coen Brothers. They also wrote and directed "Fargo" and "The Big Lebowski." That's why you'll see a lot of the same actors in their movies. I think John Goodman is in almost all of their movies and one of the brothers is married to Frances McDormand who plays the cop in Fargo. The Coen Brothers also make darker movies like "No Country For Old Men." They, pretty much, always make great movies - comedy or drama.

Frances McDormand is married to Joel Coen. In addition to Raising Arizona and Fargo she is in the following Coen movies: Blood Simple, Miller’s Crossing, Barton Fink, The Man Who Wasn’t There, Burn After Reading and Haik Caesar!

The Coen Brothers never cease to amaze me. Your next X amount of reactions should be Coen movies. We watched this so much as kids in the 80s that our parents got tired of it.

This was my intro to the Coen Bros. Other favorites of theirs -- Fargo, which you reacted to, The Big Lebowski, True Grit, Miller's Crossing, No Country for Old Men and any others you care to watch. Keep it up. I think there's a paper to be written on the parallels between Raising Arizona and No Country for Old Men.
