This dish is very staple and favourite of North karnataka community, which is very healthy, Gluten free and rich in fibre. This style of making palya is typical to north karnataka and tastes delicious with Jowar Rotis, ragi rotis and Rice. This can also be replaced with Spinach.

Ingredients:
For Rajgiri soppina MuddiPalya ( Amaranth Leaves Dal ) preparation:
1) Tor dal - 1/2 cup
2) Amaranth Leaves - 1 bunch
3) Green chillies - 3
4) Tamarind Water - 1/4 cup ( small lemon sized tamarind )
5) Rice flour or Besan - 1 tsp ( mixed with 2 tbsp of water )
6) Oil - 1 tsp + 3 tbsp
7) Mustard - 1 tsp
8) Jeera - 1 tsp
9) Haldi - 1/2 tsp
10) Curry leaves - few
11) Dry Red Chillies - 1 or 2
12) Salt to taste
13) Jeera Powder - 1/2 tsp
14) Hing - A pinch
Tips n Tricks:
1) Tamarind Water can be altered according to taste.
2) This same dish can be prepared with Spinach but Traditionally using amaranth leaves adds distinct taste to this recipe.
