Dreadhorde Arcanist is the perfect litmus test for sorceries and instants in a set. If Dreadhorde takes over every game because you have too many effective one mana spells, something needs to be done.
I think it's truly amazing to see this weird meta evolving from mono Green channel turn 2 win to people either optimising it and preparing for the mirror or actually fully answering it (10 discard spells and 4 arcanists, that is something...), to answer the answer,...
This event is the most fun I've had playing arena in a long time, I think if they banned oko and channel this format could be permanent, it's suprisingly well balanced apart from the aforementioned channel deck, I've seen success with a wide variety of decks, 4c control, murktide, shadow, burn, affinity, and a bunch of other weird brews.
What's your personal opinion on Alchemy-exclusive cards? You have said in other videos that you tend to use less Alchemy cards than necesary (and Key to the Archive because we know you love some good mana rocks), but I don't recall your opinion about them.
In a format that is oops all shenanigans, I like a deck that shenanigans the shenanigans. Yoinking away janky combo pieces, one thoughtseize at a time.
I wonder how much the fairly diverse meta of this deck is because of 1. unranked and 2. full card access. If it were ranked and you have to play cards you have unlocked I bet it would be mostly Channel Eldrazi decks
@@bobbybim101 Do you ramp it out or something? I know some versions play uro and/or gilded goose, but hard casting a 7 cmc card feels slow to me, but hey, that might just be my lack of knowledge in the metagame.
@@rasen7721 so basically wilderness reclamation lets you double your land mana as long as you're casting at instant speed? Then isn't it broken with leyline of abundance?
What I learned from this event is people really don't know how to pilot their decks, if you have leylines in your deck you should at least consider mulliganing a bit aggressively so that your hand wouldn't get shredded by discard spells, which is the only reason why those enchantments are in your deck in the first place. edit: I really advise people to watch more legacy content just to improve their decision making while piloting decks. Boshnroll is a great youtube channel for that purpose. For standard watch LVD, for legacy watch bosh
