This past Thursday was Rakim's birthday. I had my regular Stream Raiders jam on Twitch with 15 minute B2B2B2Bs going on and I dedicated my two 15 min sets to The Greatest. Here is one of the sets. You can watch more: www.bastidsbbq.com

thats a good way to put it gotta let the music BREATH! alot of these Modern "PUSH-BUTTON" jockeys dont understand Music, Beats and grooves and head bobbing to the D.J. keeping everything in sync TO ALLOW FOR THE MUSIC TO MAKE U GROOVE. THE D.J. facilitates a DANCE FLOOR!!! and thats the entire purpose of a CLASSIC D.J. getting people to groove to a beat, not just listen to scratching or Buttons or Sirens... there's gotta be artistry to what we do

BTW....I spin soul, any chance you are hep to the bunch at Daptone Records? They are associated with the El Michels Affair bunch and Menahan Street band, super dope Afro-beat and fly 1970 style soul, like the year, like leather trenchcoat, diamond in the back , sunroof top style. I know records aren't cheap that's why I appreciate you keeping the art alive, scratchin'....what is a dj if he can't scratch....an old guy like me, dropping soul records on the one. Oh, and the The Frightenrs, a newer reggae crew, lead died though, God Bless him, amazing voice....and blue vinyl, for real though.
