I had the Nano CP Years ago was starting to Upgrade then sold it. RC Heli's used to be a good stress relief for me and Particularly the Nano Most Crashes Just Pick it up and try again anything Bigger Explodes then you spend a pay check to get back in the air lol Ultra Micro Collective Pitch Hiles are the Best! I need to get back into RC Heli's
That angy birds canopy really looks awesome :D Good info on the available upgrade + great video brother! :) The end result does look quite locked in indeed :)
+DutchRC Adventures thanks for stopping by man! it's a smooth little beast :). The new motor will hopefully add a little more speed. Have a great week in Dutchland!
+Discover RC Hahaha :D Dutchland ;) My real name allso ends in 'land' by the way.. 'Roeland'.. (a Nordic name) It indeed looks to fly very precise buddy :) And it looks much better :) Have a great rest-off your week :)
So I got the advanced upgrade kit but haven't put the new tail boom on yet. I also put the mircomotor warehouse motor in. Even with the stock canopy and landing gears the CP S is really underpowered. It doesn't even have enough power to sustain an inverted hover. Any ideas or is this thing just that heavy?
Nevermind, I finally saw the screw to adjust the mesh on the pinion. I tightened the mesh and now it seems way better. The stock didn't have any way to adjust it so didn't even realize it was there.
Did you notice a huge performance drop after putting on the advanced upgrade kit? I used both stock and also MMW coreless motors and I felt like the Heli could barely get off the ground with all of the aluminum parts. I adjusted everything I could and it just seemed grossly underpowered with the extra weight.
Hmmmm was that a new motor? With the mmw coreless it flew well - maybe just a little better than stock after that added parts. Certainly no problems or anything like that. How are your batteries? Something there is not working right.
Discover RC - The batteries are definitely not the problem. I noticed that the main shaft becomes a little snug once the motor pinion is mated to the main gear. I adjusted the mesh which makes no difference. I oiled the main shaft where it meets the bearings and it made no difference. Tested with a stock motor and also the MMW coreless motor and both have extremely poor performance in the Rakon Kit. I'm wondering if I got a bad frame that's slightly off.
I was able to get the issue corrected. It turned out that there is a very small "sweet spot" where the head must be secured to the main shaft. It was slightly off and was not allowing the blades to get the correct amount of pitch. Once it was adjusted, it has plenty of power and works great!
X-FLIGHT101 well get a drone Or a similar version for a Quarter of the price.. and theyr's Many good version of the 2 blade rotor and Same motor inside.. double check google ull be surprise
you can but there is a trade off with it. More weight and decreased flight times. Some who do it aren't that happy with it from what I've seen and read. I think if you want the best performance get the coreless motor upgrade from micromotorwarehouse, the upgraded swash and rotor head and keep the rest stock with the stock canopy. Probably the best for power to weight and good control.
I would love to take mine outside but am afraid it will crash repeatedly. What is your advice with these tiny/nano helis? My skills are low so far and I hardly have the room in my house to fly it. Thanks.
just start with practice hovering it inside or out, take it slow and don't try to do too much. These little helis can handle crashes pretty well. You will crash as you learn though - it's just part of the process.
upgrading the motor does help, but you don't really need to go brushless. I like the micro motor warehouse coreless motors micro-motor-warehouse.com/collections/blade-nano-cps-cpx
Discover RC did you use the same upgrade motor on the three bladed cps? And how did it fly?. Just out of curiosity which one to you, flies and handles the best. The three bladed or the two blade CPS, with the upgraded motor. Thanks for your reply
yes I believe so - this was a while ago lol. If you want the best performance I would stick with the two blade and micro motor. The brushless is ok as well but ultimately not much better than the micro motor.
+Discover RC no when I start to give him throttle he vibrates real bad and it doesn't look like my left Rudder is working either it just completely stops when I go right it throttles up is that correct
yeah doesn't sound good. Your tail motor should roughly hold the heli neutral once you are throttled up and off the ground-it shouldn't be stopped but it may start late as the heli spools up. I am not sure you are getting to that point with the vibrations. Hard to know what is going on with that without seeing the heli-any damage to the pinion or spur gear? Is the mesh good? Bent main shaft? Any issues with the blades or the grips.
+Andre K very true - if you want the best performance keep the canopy stock. Reminds the micro motor warehouse motor upgrade came. Time to put that one in the little beast.
