This is terribly underrated and under appreciated... This series sorely needs the next season...this is the sweetest couple in Japanime in my opinion and he makes the move to propose to her at the end and damn, we need to see him become champion in the world meet... Love Rakudai Kishi no Calvary
I dislike it when she underestimated him because she was hailed as genius without work hard and she hated it but decided to do the same to other people by saying "I have talent, you only work hard. Therefore you are a trash" thing.
You're right. I've heard the next story arc (The tourney) would have had some incredible fights too.... not to mention the spent the bulk of this season setting up for that but without an S2, it never happened.
And that was how she went from "Drop dead, asshole" to "Absolutely obsessed" almost instantly. It's actually kind of hilarious, even the fact that it caught HER off guard as well...
I mean, if you were ostracised your entire life for being too strong and talented to the point that nobody values your achievements, someone who is weaker than you but even more skilled and dedicated who also recognises your efforts is bound to make a huge impact. And in this case, it helps that Ikki is also hot and said she was really pretty as his excuse earlier lol.
It's hilarious, but it makes sense. Ikki respects her for her skills and her hard work, but he isn't intimidated by her natural talent and her title. He's the most "real" with her that anyone in her life has ever been

@@N-Ice_ the sad part is that, even the writer of the light novel has put it on hold after volume 18. Volume 18 just ends up like, there is some villan who just captures Stella and takes her away from ikki. Kidnapping her for some cloning stuff

If they ever make season 2 and 3, I want to see the fight between Ikki and Stella in the tournament. That fight was just spectacular and seeing it animated will be a treat.

@@Demonaire No. it is vanilla romance as opposed to being a harem. I slept on this anime because out came out when the magical high school genre was overrepresented, so the seasons were full of mediocre shit of the said genre, which made me ignore any shows with those tropes. I only discovered it years later.
This fight is awesome, and Ikki Kurogane is an inspiration himself when you think about it. Someone who everyone despised and didn't want to help, ends up helping himself, learning to fight and do things alone and beating everyone with his own strength.

@@idoitforthememes6011 That sounds wrong. The manga finished in 2017, and it only went a little farther than the anime. The original light novel already had enough material for a second season before the first season even aired.

@@idoitforthememes6011 They changed the way Ikki said his catchphrase because it made him sound condescending, when in fact he's simply stating his weakest is his strongest. Kinda weird, but the anime's change made it easier to understand.

Nothing could be done at that point: it was her ego who was commanding her fight. And that's why his fight against Kuraido is the best in the anime and one of the best overall.
It was never mentioned in the anime, but Ikki actually won against the director on a duel. Fun fact, the director is former world's number 3. P.s. yeah, she held back, but it is still impressive for you to win against a world no. 3
I don't remember her saying hold back... She was retired because didn't want to become desparado so it's something like she can level up but don't. Either way İkki solved her and beat her, and later killed the rank 2 in a war. He was always too damn good and plot pretty much holds him back.
What i find most interesting about the side characters is they don't stand out too much in the audience. You'd only notice them because the camera focuses on them.
@@Archedgar It's 18 volumes right now. The 19th volume will be the last, I can't really figure out if it's been released yet, or if it's only in Japanese or what, as I can't really find it anywhere. Only some release dates on Reddit saying the first part of 19 should have released in December 2020 and second part in June/July 2021.

Regardless of translation, itto shura and the eight gates release (Naruto) is the same. The user releases the safe guards the brain has on the muscles, allowing the body to function to the limit. This is very dangerous, but one can, theoretically, achieve intense levels of speed and strength. But I don't really know anyone who can force their brain to unshackle those restraints. They're there for a reason, so we don't kill ourselves.
Anime adaptations for the Asterisk War and Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry came out at pretty much the same time and it really makes me mad that the former gets a 2nd season while the later doesn't. Cavalry seriously needs a 2nd season so bad.
Asterisk never got a season 2 it was split cour like gate. It's why it's episode 13 the first one on the second cour. It's just named season 2 because at the time split cour weren't spread as today.
its been awhile now, I was still on my freshman year on highschool when I finished this, now I'm about to enter college and I'm still waiting for its 2nd season, I've read a lil bit of both manga and novel, and I can't wait to see it being animated even to this day :'D

All these years later and still Itto Shura is still may favourite ability in anime, badass, op but anyone could technically do it and also reflects the character so perfectly.
Damn... I've watched this countless times, and I've just noticed that not only does he manage to copy his opponents fighting techniques, he also mimics the way they posed 2:30 and 3:19 (Just thought it was a neat little detail they added)
In my opinion I think itto shura is short term stress in real life Note: short term stress is you giving all your energy in a short period of time, you won't feel hunger or wanting to pee if your having this
This series was amazing from start to finish but the fact that it teaches us no matter how many walls are in front of us always find a way to get through them
Except for the classics like Naruto, Dragon Ball which they show in tv when I was a kid, this was my 2nd anime and this is what actually made me love anime. Till this day, I still love this one. My first one was Attack on Titan, it was only season 1 at that time.
Seeing all the new comments on this video gave me hope that this anime is still popular and with all the old anime getting sequels this too might get one!!!
Rakudai is one of few that have MC fight his lover or heroine seriously because they both want to win. Other anime or manga I know usually just make them not meet at final (the girl lose to villain and MC fight villain at final). Rakudai is definitely not go mainstream path.
Man i love this anime, i'd love to see more seasons of it , but unfotunately it was very underated back in the day But i still have faith that one day S2 wil come out
@@gabentherealultimatekeyboa9284 anime always nerf op characters for no reason. Even Saitama was nerf a little in the anime. In the Manga, Saitama was overwhelming.
That was a season, there were as another anime released the same season with a similar premise but this one was better. One of many anime's desperately needing for a S2. We shall wait as long as it takes!
