Screw the subaru motor. Perfect opportunity for a new beams engine itb's na maybe around 240-260hp. Then put that engine in a gt86. With a new supra toyota would be back making cool cars instead of flashy "dramatic" family haulers.
@teknik, only if you work within the allotted limits, but if you're willing to bend the rules, you could stick one easy. And come on, a RWD Corolla is nice.
Really do appreciate this aspect of the Hoonigan content and experience. Big fan of Larry's work, everything he shares on his personal Instagram and his work here.
I really like the look of this car stock and I gotta say you did an awesome job with this build Larry. Looks badass as a rally inspired build! Hope we see more of it throughout the year
I really like that car! I wish they would make it AWD. It'd be perfect. Its good to see Toyota is kinda coming back to sporty cars with the new Supra, this car with a manual and the 86.
My kids mom has a basic model 2016. Very appropriate car for women. Not a slug (ain't no race car though), gets great gas mileage, easy to clean too and it handles very good for what it is. Its one of the only Toyota's I have had the pleasures of enjoying and its a company that got my attention.
I was blown away on how much Toyota has knocked this thing out of the park, these corollas look soo good. I do agree an awd version would seriously make this a unique car. With Ford discontinuing the focus rs, there would be few competitors for an awd Corolla.
I love the build so much I'm buying this car just to customize it the same way. I'm just trying to figure out how to install the hella lights. I may have to go without them sadly.
Thanks Larry, I already wanted one but those 52 rims make it look dynamite. I would take mine in white with red flaps and Toyota Castrol livery theme wrap thank you
I didnt know Nads was the guy at Super Street, i used to read that magazine all the time. that doo doo brown RSX 2005. i have so much more respect for Nads. even if i was the only liked him on hoonigan anyways
That harness bar looks wrong. What's to keep the outside strap from just sliding around the corner? Maybe there was something but it sure wasn't visible in the vid.
Justin White when you put the harness on, it's going to be tight, it's not going to slide around much if you've tightened it correctly. If you're talking about the actual harness belt "seat belt" that is.
Tightening the strap against the bar is not a strong enough mechanical barrier to movement. There should be a piece of bar a/before the bend to keep the strap from migrating around the corner. I think this same thing got pointed out when they had a cage builder guy inspect Danger Dan's BMW drift/race build. And in this case here, the strap is pretty much at the bend already. Now, I know this isn't a race car and so even if it was in an accident it still wouldn't endure the force a race crash might create, but there is something to be said for doing things right, especially safety, if only to set an example. You're right in that the strap shouldn't move, but it _could_ and it doesn't take much to make sure it can _never_ move around the bend.
Vortec 3501999 they’re specifically made for cars but I am sure they hooked it up his car. They’re on Fifteen52s website if you want to try and retro fit them
