As a Solberg and Subaru fan, this was a painful season to endure. It’s such a shame they and Pirelli could never bring back the car to what it was - at least a contender to winning rallies and potentially the title.
They didn’t screw up F1. When they came in, F1 asked them to produce high deg tyres and they did exactly that. They then produced more durable tyres when the teams and drivers asked for it for 2017. Teams were also abusing the limits with the tyre pressures etc which is why some of the punctures happened eg the ones in Baku 2021.
As a Solberg and Subaru fan growing up, this season was painful to watch and what happened in this rally was just unacceptable. Such a shame that Subaru couldn’t get the car reliable and consistently back to challenging at the front before they pulled out at the end of 2008.
