@Joe Edwards Fristly he didn't call the actor of Amon rascist nor did he insuate it. Secondly even if he was doing the prevoiusly describes thing, the fact that he has a balck or part black grand daughter would not make him exempt from the possibilty of being racist, like are you thinking black people are the only people you can be racist to? The fact that you have a black friend or somebody non-white in your Family does not make you immune or incapable of being racist. Ironcly claiming this is racist in itself.
@Joe Edwards " I know, the real guy was not as handsome. Im a not libtard and I dont think whites can be the only race that can be racist or do these things. Im very much right wing myself." Ok, good to know but I never claimed that white people can be the only ones capable of racism (as that would racist in itself) but that having black friends does not mean you can't be racist, irrelevant what race you part of. Also I did not imply that you are liberal but possibly racist. " Im simply mocking him and their beliefs of a superior race (from eugenics, social darwinism) because the nazis thought blacks, slavs and jews were a weaker race and they thought they had the right to take their land by means of exterminating them because in darwins theory the strong of the group will take over the weak." Ok, but how does that relate to the original comment from Travis Walsh? The only thing he stated was that Ralph Fiennes played a phenominal Amon Goeth in Schindlers list. So you can't be refering to Ralph Fiennes because he is not (to my knowledge) a Nazi. There isn't anything you coul possibly mock about the beliefs of him or Amon Goeth since I am pretty sure that he has no black grand dauther depicted in this film. Of course I understand your critique of Nationalsocialism and I very much agree in the points put foward, it's just that it does not logicly connect to your first comment which is why I was quite confused. " Me as a person I dont care if I have white or black friends to prove im not racist because im friends with people not based on their race or ethnic background but their personality." Ok, I feel the Martin Luther King vibes. But yes that is fundamently good. "U should be telling those white girls that think races have bigger penises/smaller penises with petty racist remarks and tell them to stop having mixed baby fetishes by saying really off colored stuff like "oh I want my kid to have the perfect skin" or "mixed kids are the most beautiful types of people" " Ok, people have preferences, that is not inherently racist but I realize that one can be expressing those preferences in a racist or discrimminatory/derogatory manner. Yes I agree that this is a problem but it does not apply exclusivly to white girls. We should perhaps put emphasis on respectful treatment of others. "not me (im not against interracial but do it for the right reason)." Ok this one is little tricky. I mean I would agree but what are the right reasons? Do you mean we should only be in (interracial) relationships purely because of personality? In that case your idea is highly impractical and unnatural because physical preferences do have a great impact on why we even willingfully engage in relationships with other people (like personal ones). Other than that I think we are on the same page here.
He was nominated for the academy award but didn't win which everyone believed was a slight actually created by his realism in the role, a bunch of jews couldn't bring themselves to vote for him despite his being the absolute best performance that year.
Christoph Waltz would also had made a great performance acting this role. Not just because he's Austrian....after all, he played an evil SS-commander in "Inglorious Basterds"
I read somewhere as to how some Holocaust survives visited the set of Shindler's List and were talking to Ralph about the film and everything was rosy, Ralph was called onto the set for a scene and they said "It was like he pulled on the persona of Goeth, everything, the way he spoke, moved, it was as if Goeth had suddenly appeared in front of us totally chilling it took an effort not to collapse in a quacking mess" and once finished the scene he shrugged Goeth off and was once again kind, courteous a real gentleman.
@@Corrupt03 well I mean you can still kinda See that they're blue, but I wasn't talking about this particular film anyway, just about Ralph in General;)
@@todyboy9744 also do not watch jewish propaganda movies. Jews collaborated massively with germans and austrians. Read about judenrsts ghetto jewish Police and their involvement in german crimes.
TheMonsterHunterTV Hans Landa was a fictional comedy Nazi in an alternative history of WWll. No comparison with Amon Goeth....if that’s what you’re implying. BTW, l said nothing about Jews in my comment.
very handsome in this movie but also a awesome actor all the roles he plays are great my favorite apart from this role was playing Hadis in Clash of the Titans he plays it soooo good
During filming this great movie, the holocaust survivor Mila Pfefferberg visited the set and saw Ralph Finnes in costume. The actor looked so much like the real Amon Göth that she starts to tremble in fear out of her memories.
Nobody can imagine, how much I love Ralph Fiennes. His perfect roles in all his movies, very handsome himself and great man. I wish him all the best in this life.
He gives an incredible and chillingly realistic performances in this. I can remember being affected by him the most when I saw the film, like he was channelling the pure deranged, psychopathy of a Nazi officer. You feel cold just looking into his eyes.
I despised him and was truly terrified on how he portrayed this role. It felt so real and I just found myself in fear whenever I see him lashing on screen. But I found him attractive at the same time which was strange. Phenomenal actor for sure, he nailed it. I'll never forget this movie
Yes I was the same, he is gorgeous to look at. I think that was deliberate to show you that on the outside, you can look lovely. Inside you are evil and cruel which makes you ugly
They looked very beautiful in their black uniforms, but a handsome man can also be a sadist,a killer,a psychopath.Beautiful is only something exterior,it doesn’t tell you about the character of someone. He could be an angel or a demon!

Ralph did one of the greatest portrayals in history. In reality Amon was nowhere as organized and coherent. His health was failing miserably from massive drinking and had a crumbling mental health, even the Nazi party was concerned about him.
I KNOW Ralph was in character, but good GOD, he got so deep into character, I can literally see the coldness in his eyes. Its both electrifyingly arousing, and profoundly saddening!! whoah!!!!
At 2:26 we see a bit of the scene in which Fiennes says to Ben Kingsley, "look at me". The close-up of Fiennes face is down right bone-chilling. Can't think of anything else in film as terrifying as his stare. Too bad the whole 8-second scene is amiss.
Fun fact: during the filming of this movie they had Holocaust survivors check up on the set. When Ralph Viennes walked up dressed like Goeth some started to visibly shake because he looked that much like the real one
@@frasierthebichon7422 mila pffeferberg, i think thats the name. She was one of the survivors who visited the set and when she saw ralph she started shaking terribly
Goethe's daughter in real life knew nothing of her fathers reputation ( she was a child during the war) and after learning of his brutality as a young woman was guilt stricken the remainder of her life. When he was present around her as a child, he was a normal, loving father.
It's easy to portray a bad person. All you have to do is be bad all the time when acting as that person. However, Ralph Fiennes took it a step further. He also showed Amon Goeth's human side which made his evil acts even more monstrous. He showed him laughing and even being considerate of others such as when he was picking out his maid. She stepped closer to him after she was chosen from the line of women. Since Ralph's character had a cold at the time, he steps back and tells her not to get too close since he is not feeling well and doesn't want her to catch his cold. Then moments later he has another woman, the engineer, executed. Bad people don't do that. Monsters do.
@AngryLilMadScientist Many of them were brutal. But Goeth really stood out. The real Amon Goeth was more brutal and sadistic than the movie one. Spielberg had to turn the character down to not "scare off" the audience.
Ahh yes komandant you know as much as id like to watch u grasp for a final breath while under una oror cochio. I have under fine conviction you will get your chance at redemption along with every other super race... the enemy to my enemy is a friend to me...
Fun fact: The real Amon's execution was botched. The rope broke 2 or 3 times before the hanging was successful. Many high ranking nazi leaders hangings were botched, with some taking as long as 28 minutes of hanging to die. Personally I think it was an intentional form of revenge.
Good for them!! I hope they were tortured fot killing innocent people and beautiful children were just thrown in the chambers too. They say forgive....that will never happen from a lot of people
I dont understand the idea of “botched” execution. You’re killing someone and youre mad on success of how fast its done? Lol sorry just a high thought. Lol
@@gardenstate732 Well so is killing, ironically. lol a botch execution you're still killing someone. Even if you did it successfully, you're still killing someone. Why worry about morality of it all? You're killing someone. lol
The movie and portrayal of Amon Goethe by Ralph Fiennes came at a point in my life when I was growing and about to lose my youthful innocence, my parents and siblings were on a trip, and I watched it alone, before then I never imagined the world could be so terrible, and evil and sadistic people existed, after I watched the movie, I had to wait for a few more years to watch it again, his portrayal of Amon Goethe should have given him an Oscar, he showed his evil, malice, charm, insecurity, greed and pure lunacy and blood lust, even for him, if he is to say it, it was his best portrayal ever, and acting, he was the devil himself for that part, to the bitter end, he was Amon Goethe, look at him fixing his hair even as he was going to be executed....
And just how different Goeth and Voldemort talked. I really had listen closely to hear Voldemort. Either way he gave the appropriate chilling tone to their voice.
It is said that during the making of the movie, they had a few WWII survivors on the set, and when one of them who had seen Amon Goeth in Aushcwitz, come face to face with Ralph, she fainted in fear, as if she had seen the real Amon
It was his persona that terrified them the most. He's such a good actor that he played on Göth so well. It was like stepping back in time and reliving it for the survivors who met him.
to be able to play someone so despicable so well and be regarded as a kind man in real life shows his range as an actor. this movie was a marvel. and he stole the show, as did Liam Neeson.
Fantastic actor, he became Amon Goeth! People will be glad to know he's really a gracious and funny guy. A friend of mine met him in London a year after the movie was released. A gracious and charming man from what I was told.
In real-life, Amon Goeth could not shoot from the balcony because a hill with trees lay between the camp and his house, obscuring his view. Goeth's house does not overlook the camp like in the film. The real Amon Goeth may have been shooting from the balcony but was probably hunting birds as target practice in preparation to hunt the Jews. To shoot the prisoners, the real Goeth rode his horse up the hill or hiked it wearing a hat, which marks the time for prisoners to hide. From the hill, Goeth had a good view of the camp and there he would shoot the prisoners. There are times he hunted from his office window as his office itself overlooked the camp.
He was hung for crimes against humanity..and it took them 3 times hanging him to kill him..he was 6 foot 4 inches tall and the rope/drop ratio wasn't right..
I know a lot of people who don't like Ralph Fiennes. The older ones don't like him because of Schindler's List. The younger ones don't like him because of Harry Potter. I like this talented actor!
When an actor can bring a role to life so much you believe it & love or despise that character, you learn their ability to act or wait tables professionally as they study customers eating.
He was chilling as an SS officer. Just the brutality, ruthlessness and intelligence he showed as this killer who has no feelings or remorse as he eliminates people. He sent a chill down my spine. Especially when Neeson gives the thirsty people in the cattle car water by spraying it from above! I’ll never forget those cruel and chilling lines. Now that’s cruelty! Because you’re giving them Hope! That’s real cruelty! I remember thinking he’s right! They were doomed and it was just prolonging their agony! Incredible portrayal of Evil! He definitely should have won the Oscar!
