Definitely can't beat the Brits for pageantry. And can I just say, "Slow is good." This is VERY good. My life is better for having sung this. Thank you, dear Ralph. You are missed.

Tempo is always a plus with British choiresters and congregations. Organist and conductors/directors have not mastered the task here in the USA as everybody is off to the races. Many of us do work hard for such discipline.

This over-the-top, no-prisoners-taken arrangement of the "Old Hundredth" was prepared for the coronation of Quesn Elizabeth II in 1953. Vaughan Williams was proud of the fact that for the first time in history, the congregation had a vocal part in the coronation music of a British monarch. Can't beat the Brits for pageantry!

​@@davegingrich9788Reharmonization in the last verse is definitely over the top, with the brass descant and awesome chord alterations, but it is totally fitting for what it was written for.
