What does the FRONTAL LOBE do?
-It aids in impulse control, managing behavior, and controlling emotion
-It does not fully develop until age 25y.
-The frontal lobe is the area responsible for language and speech production Broca's area
-It is the area where we initiate voluntary movement
-The 84-year-old homeowner shot the teen through a glass door in the head and then again in the arm on 4/13/23
-The teen tried to seek help from neighbors and was found in the street by police
-The shooter said he was intimidated by Ralph’s size…Ralph is a 140-pound 5’8” musician and band leader in his high school.
-On Friday doctors were removing bullet fragments from Ralph’s brain
-Sunday, Ralph was discharged home
-He reportedly has the prognosis of a full physical recovery with the possible exception of scarring and post-traumatic brain injury
Damage to the frontal lobe can result in a range of cognitive and behavioral impairments, including difficulty with decision-making, decreased inhibition, and impaired social behavior.
