Power Wagon is an HD truck, has that articulating front solid axle, disconnecting sway bar, so she is built for this slow technical stuff! That Raptor wants to be out on the desert trails, full throttle! My husband has gen 1 and gen 3 Raptor, and my dad has a Power Wagon, so this was cool to watch! Nice video!
It's no debate how they both do good at it. But the reality is the raptor is known to be the dessert dune type of truck for high speeds etc. Not really much of an off-roader. If it got in a tougher situation it sure would get stuck. The power wagon on the other hand owns the off-roading trails. Will do better in harder obstacles but not meant for the dessert or dunes like the raptor is. Although now we have a TRX that is a competition. Hoping to see soon the raptor r I heard rumors it's gonna have the 5.2 V8 option in it.
Power Wagon for the win! No surprises there. Further, the Power Wagon is a better looking truck and doesn't sound like a sick musician playing a trumpet.
power wagon is simply unstoppable, but I realized the factory shocks are very miserable compared to the Fox from Raptor. The ride is a little bit harsh in my power wagon
Power Wagon on all was effortless and easy where the Raptor was definitely gunning it to get up the icy hill and Power Wagons Don’t Care… Plus the New Raptor Pussed out of the last one… PW all day!!!👍 And BTW, The Raptor is more of a Dune / Sand truck ( Trophy Truckish ) than a Off Road / Trail Truck and it’s great at that where the PW would have trouble just like here the PW made it look effortless… Now a better Comparison would be the Ford Tremor and PW or the Chevy Trail Boss or GMC AT4 vs. the PW and I think it would still be the PW for the WIN…🤷🏻♂️👍
@@4WDisLife Of Course Raptor and Trex are Basically Trophy Trucks and Perform Well in Sand, BUT on Trails and Rockier terrain I’d take a PW or Jeep any day…👍
So question. For a guy that is going to keep a vehicle stock. That wants to off road, but also needs cab room for family as well as use the truck as a truck to pull and haul things. But also try to get decent mpg. Is the power wagon the way to go or is there something better? Thanks
I know they make ford that look like raptors, but are not true raptors. I saw the raptor sticker but doesn’t look like it had anything for off road as far as parts go. Just looked like a stock copy-cat..? But yeah a fair comparison for the PW would’ve been the Tremor. Cool vid! Maybe in the future bring the tremor.

@@4WDisLife I believe the reasoning for that is the design of the frame rails where they converge together in the rear behind the axles leaving only about 34 inches between left and right rails allowing for a maximum 33-34in spare tire, a real oversight on chrysler's part in my opinion, but this is just a guess as to the reasoning, but the only logical one I can find.
@@stevenkhan4344 40-50k on a new Tacoma it would be more expensive than these two trucks, and I doubt it will still maintain its stock reliability since lots of parts are aftermarket and it’s not going to be as reliable than what Toyota designed it to be. Just my opinion.
No . Stay in the desert. Power wagons runs the rocks. I have yet to see a factory truck touch what a stock wagon has done. 7 days of moab at full size invasion
Raptor is unfortunately handy capped by it's own Independent Front Suspension which limits articulation to 13-14 inches in front versus the Power Wagons massive 26 inches of articulation with SB disconnected, that in addition to the Power Wagons Full Lockers vs the Raptor's open front diff and it becomes apparent that there really is no comparison at all in this arena. When you take durability into account comparing the Power Wagons 9.25in front and 11.5in rear AAM Full-Floating Solid Axle to the Raptor's 8.8in IFS front end and 9.25in non-float rear end, now the argument becomes a little silly. The raptor is a purpose built Dessert Runner, but using a Raptor against a Power Wagon on the hard trails is bringing a knife to a Gun fight.
