The rebel isn't engine upgraded it's all accessory and body upgrades same power as a regular ram, the raptor is in a different class, it would have to be a trx rebel vs a raptor
You mean the dodge? The dodge, and chevy pickups are the only trucks with transmission problems. Not even counting the other issues they have. Ford pickups have no issues like that what so ever. They have the best trucks on the road.
@@hunterjackson2056 lmao no. Ford and Dodge both have more engine problems than Chevrolet due to Chevrolet V8s still having pushrods instead of DOHC. Less moving parts means less things to break. Chevrolet V8s are more reliable, and in this video, the Ford was literally smoking underneath. Also, Fords are ugly AF unless you get a Raptor or the one with the thin bar grill. Ford has braking issues and radiator issues too, especially on older trucks
Tugs are stupid and doesn’t prove which truck is better. The truck with the best traction and most weight will win, regardless of power because we all know every truck on the market is strong enough to spin the tires...
Weight difference, tire difference, gear ratio difference - these pull-offs are for ignorant people...They're fun to watch but doesn't help make a point if you really know what you were buying.
Couldn't be more correct. Weight and tire type are probably the two biggest factors then things like LSD and locking differentials tend to make the most difference. But still fun to watch.
Okay, one major bit: Pull-off pissing contests, come down to who has the best traction, angle, cojones (well, tolerance for damage), etc. Hell, a better set of tires on one over the other would be sufficient to 'win' such a contest. Now towing performance, longevity, drive comfort, cornering, features, bang-for-buck... *those* are what make the better truck.
Not in my experience, bud. I had an F-150 from 2005; lasted about two years before the drive train randomly separated. Some car fails are cool or funny; having your drive train pop out on a highway just isn't either one of those. Then I decided to just grab myself a 2007 Power Wagon. Still works true to this day, and I haven't had a single issue with it. Towing or mechanical, ;)
Retro Wave please clarify . If you mean that the U-Joint failed than that was not the trucks fault , that was YOUR fault , bud ! Those things clunk for a long long long time before they just fall apart ! And it’s about a 25 minute job to replace a $40 part . Im not calling you stupid , I’m just wondering if you know what the fuck you are talking about
Yes I know it’s a 25 minute job. Yes I fixed it, but go ahead and explain to me how doing nothing but driving it back and forth high ways and the drivetrain randomly falling out is my fault. Seems like someone can’t handle that not every Ford lasts as long as a can of beans.
Retro Wave early 80’s ford sucked dick sideways . U-joints wear out on every truck . You didn’t make a very good example of ford being shitty by saying you let the u joint get so bad it fell apart driving down the road . That’s on you .
You guys are all idiots, the Rebel wasn't designed to compete against the Raptor, no the Raptor was built to compete against the Power Wagon and to this day you will never beat a Power Wagon with a Raptor it just wont happen, so yes the Raptor probably would have beat the Rebel but for the same reason you guys are complaining about, to make it even they would have to pair a F150 against a 1500 or a Raptor against a Power Wagon and in both cases the Ram would win. And in case you don't believe me go ask Ram yourself they have even said before that the Rebel wasn't built to compete against the Raptor, the Raptor supposed to compete against the Power Wagon and it still falls short in every competition.
@J P I've had a tug of war where it was the raptor vs the bighorn and the bighorn pulled it like it was nothing lol, fords suck ass and are made of cheap and shitty parts
@J P and yes I might be 15 but it doesn't mean I I don't know anything about cars, your just a butthurt ford fanboy who cant believe the fact that ford lost to dodge again lol
@J P I've grown up in a shop since I was 3, I'm far from inexperienced but for from a mechanic, I know what I'm doing 75% of the time, just face the facts fords are peices of shit
@J P the twelfth generation which were made from 2009-2014 had aluminum frames including the raptor. After many years of scratching their head and watching the frame twist comparison videos by GMC, ford finally figured out that aluminum wouldn't work. So they switched to steel frame and aluminum body in 2015. The ford in this video is a 12th gen, son.
Well the new raptor would probably lose still, the old one would be a different story. As an engineer I’m going to tell you a couple things to think about, a Bugatti veyron could not beat any truck in tug of war. Why? Because it’s about weight and power not just power. So although the new raptor is powerful and beautiful it just doesn’t have the weight behind it.
If it was a newer Ford it wouldve been worse lol. Those new Fords are made of tin foil. It wouldve crumpled up right away and been dragged into tomorrow by that Ram.
rokkero564 ignorant, your probably young or uneducated. I am an engineer and had to take plenty of classes regarding material strength, aluminum is capable of being stronger than steel if you turn it into an aluminum alloy. Steel is an alloy made of iron and carbon, iron is very soft im comparison to steel. It’s ignorant to think aluminim isn’t capable of being stronger. I hate you uneducated Chevy hick morons. Go the fuck to school and get off your fucking cousin
Dylan Riggs Theyre about the same weight. Thats a Steel Ford. Its an older model. And thats actually a 5.4l engine in that Ford buddy. If you dont know then dont say shit and look like a dumbass. Accept it, nothing can beat the Hemi.
Common sense says, Raptor won't change anything. Both trucks have enough power to spin the tires. It's more about, weight, tire's, type of suspension, then horse power, make and model.
The Ram Rebel is NOT a Raptor competitor, people need to stop trying to think it's Rams answer to the Raptor. I can't tell which engine is in the F150 but I'm guessing the Rebel is packing the 5.7L. Also, these pull tests are always bs as tire specs mean more. Looks like the Rams got Toyo AT while the F150 has the basic wrangler SR-A. I own a 2015 Ram 1500 5.7L QC 4x4 and drive a 2016 F150 5.0L QC 4x4 as my work truck. Both are exceptional trucks.
All of you dodge fanboys are saying that truck is aluminum, when actually that is a pre2015 truck which means it's still steel, so the weight wasn't the issue, the tires were. Put the same tires on it or just use a regular 1500 instead of a 1500 rebel to make it an apples to apples comparison. The driver also seemed like he sucks ass at truck pulling so that could also be the issue.
XRebel RENEGADE Lol you must be ignorant. The dodge out weighs the Ford by almost 1k and the Ram was built to compete with the raptor not a shit 5.0 l8tr Ford. It was over before it started. All the Ford has is a fancy I.P cluster and that's it lmfao.
The Rebel competes with the FX4 and the Z71, The Raptor is in a class of its own. Its a propose built truck where as the Dodge is just a bighorn with some skid plates and an air suspension.
I wouldn't do it either. My boyfriend has a 2016 RAM CC Sport and already had to do a rear axle overhaul because those things wear like crazy, with not a lot of towing and about 60.000 miles driven. This looks like a brilliant way to rip your 8 speed out and wrap the rear axle like a pretzel.
Pretty happy with my rebel my only complaint is it’s so nice that I’m scared to do certain things with it. Every time the roads are covered enough snow I’m driving around lol. Definitely my dream truck would buy again.
Wanna know to damage a truck? This is how you do it. I hope they don’t expect warranty to cover this. For everyone saying “ trucks can handle this beating” you don’t understand how sensitive a transmission can be in certain situations. Pulling something that is stuck or heavy is one thing but pulling something that is not only heavy but also using its own force in the opposite direction can really damage a transmission.
Disclaimer, I own a Ram. But you all realize this was published on here in 2017 and the Ram rebel engine(5.7) wise was same engine as normal Ram from 2013-to current redesign, only thing that chanted mid 13 was going from 6 speed to 8 speed transmission. Height of each vehicle is more important and tire type.
Thats not an ecoboost. Regardless, power doesn't play much of a role here. Traction is the key to victory. Fyi, the ecoboost makes more power (torque) than the v8.
@@gritter781 makes more horsepower but will never beat a dodge with torque no matter what it says on paper the dodge will always out preform the ford anyday
@@gritter781 not only is ford built weak but the powerstroke sounds like absalute shit when you floor it, at least cummins and duramax still sound like a diesel when you floor it unlike pwerstroke when you floor it it sounds like a gas motor
@@eragonshadeslayer1 I love it when you act like those others don't have their fair share issues as well. Plus I will always take a big block gas V8 over a Diesel. They make more torque NA than as opposed to a stock diesel with a turbo XD
Nope the raptor was made as an alternative to the power wagon by Ram. The Rebel is pretty much a factory version of what most people do to their 4x4 trucks. Only thing is that this has warranty
The Rebel is nothing like the Raptor, the Raptor is a supercharged monster, or at the least has a much bigger motor. The Rebel is more or less an off road package, and my F150 will out tow both of them
@@mondobananas1832 or perhaps you can learn how not to reply to people like me and stop looking like an asshole. We can all learn from this. Did it crossed your mind that maybe just maybe, English is not the first language to some of us yet we're still trying to communicate? No of course you didn't, you only think about yourself and how to be an asshole.
Don't Breathe they can but they basically are because they both are in the same organization as GMC CHEVY and dodge and ford that’s why some trucks look alike since GMC basically is the like inspector not a boss
Rebel has a bog-standard 5.7L v8 Hemi. Most of what makes up a Rebel is in the gearing, tires, add-on stuff, lift, etc. The engine is the same as any other v8-equipped Ram 1500, and the transmission is the same ZF 8-spd automatic that every Ram 1500 made that year has (hell, my v6 Ram has that tranny...)
TJ Miller it’s not for sure that rebel has a hemi not all rebels have hemi’s from me looking at it it doesn’t have the hemi logo on the side of it so I don’t think it is
Ford boys always have excuses. Just because you have the “best selling truck” and the whole “ford started it all” bullshit is getting old and is dying off. Dodge 5.7 Hemi is superior to ford junk
J P the hemi is far behind? In what? The coyote can’t beat a 392 stock for stock even if the mopar driver isn’t all that great. Fords recent coyote engines are having problems while the 5.7 is strong and the 6.4 is strong too. Don’t get me started
And it was a Rebel trim too. The Rebel has all the off-road suspension and stuff so it has less towing capacity than a regular Ram 1500. Plus the F-150 is supposed to tow like 13k pounds? Ford is probably just overrating their towing capacity so they can claim "best in class towing and hauling" to boost sales.
Tbh Tesla shouldn't trust Ford to hold it, Ford would probably spill it lol Though I really wouldn't mind because I don't believe in drinking, but that's beside the point lol
395hp 410ftlb torque vs 365hp 470ftlb Torque on the eb. Torque is the only thing at work here. The newest eco boost is even higher now. Yes it would win
Brandon Householder then you can rest assured he won’t have the Chevy transmission problems as well as electrical problems and that his Dodges A/C won’t go out and the engine start ticking at 80k miles
