Love the video. I have a Ram 1500 short bed. I’m 6’2, I want to get a shell and I was wondering if I should get the queen mattress. So the wheel wells aren’t a problem? I had thought about bed frame, but I didn’t want to take away headroom. I wish I had got the long bed, but wondering if laying sideways would help. I didn’t plan the whole camping in bed, until after I bought the truck. It’s 67 inches long, and all mattress are about 70+ long. I’m open to any ideas. Right now I have a cover, I haven’t bought a shell yet. Also does it lock inside securely? Thanks,
I have a short box crew cab with the same Leer canopy on it - I'm also 6'2". I can sleep stretched out corner to corner comfortably and if my wife is with me< i can sleep just fine with my legs bent at the knee a little. I did buy a specific inflatable mattress that was designed for the short box and goes over the wheel wells to create a completely flat area. All was fine until the dog punctured it lol! Now I just sleep in a sleeping bag on the bedrug and its comfortable enough if you like a firm bed.
Awesome video! Love these leer camper shells. Thats what I've got on my truck! You'll have to check out my camper setup in my truck! Keep up with the awesome content
If you drive with the camper windows open on the freeway does it put strain on the latch or does the wind cause them to close? Wondering if this would work with dogs 🐕 🤔.
