That's amazing how easy it was to upgrade to the auto dimming mirror with Bluetooth microphones. I like how it all plugs into a factory harness connection with no splicing!
Glad to see you settled in. That must of been very stressful waiting to find the right place but as they say all good things are worth waiting for. Happy for you bro congrats look forward to more content on your channel
Makes me curious about doing this on my 18 tradesman 2500, I know that connector on the inside do the dash is being used for my roof cab lights right now. Just finished an 8.4 and 7” digital gauge cluster on mine!! Didn’t even know this mirror was an option to upgrade!
What headlights do you have installed on this particular truck? My OEM headlights are horrible and I need a honest opinion on some good headlights. There are 100 different brands… Thanks for all the videos!! It’s been a monstrous helpful journey!
So I have the mirror with auto dimming and the back up camera. I want to get the same radio in the truck in the video but I want the hand free as well. Since my mirror right now does not have the microphone will all I have to do is buy the new mirror and hook it up the the existing wire my mirror is on now? (Without running a new wire)
Nice... I will get mine. I changes the radio time ago... I dont know if I mentioned before... You should change the taillights and add the Blind Spot Sensors.
It’s great how easy you make it look 👀 and it came out amazing 🤩!!!! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in the future!!! Hopefully the moving in is being stress free and I’ll see you in the next video!!!!
I don't think I hit save, but my '18 has hands free, and no mirror mic setup. Even when I had the "basic" mirror, as the factory screwed up on the Rebel, and put the wrong mirror in. I got the auto dimming mirror through the recall, as they had it on the sticker, but not the truck. (Not as basic as your mirror, as I did have Assist/911 buttons, but manual dim mirror.) Trying to figure out if I have the auto high beams, and your video is the first place I have seen where the actual sense head goes. I've been looking in the wrong place for like a month to see if I have the sensor. Now I just have to wait until I can sneak out of work to look a the truck!
Dude I looked for the link in your post since I'm desperately needing to upgrade my truck (2020 dodge ram, bought it used from the dealer and found out after I did the paperwork that there was a bunch of accessory work that needs to be done) and the link was pulled. If you still have it I'd appreciate you leaving me the links again
I have done the same swap in my express. Recently when I use the Bluetooth for phone calls the person on the other end has a bad echo. I've tried different phones and a different mirror with no luck getting rid of the echo. Any ideas on what is causing the echo?
Friend had that issue also. She did a reset of her radio under settings and by holding the mute/scan buttons. Then she unhooked the battery and touched the pos/neg cables together, held them for a minute and it “ drained”the system. Worked after that. Not sure if it helps. To be clear…both pos and neg terminals are unhooked. Like you’re installing a new battery.
What kind of LED bulbs do you use for the map lights? When there's a little bit of shake such as closing the door or the bass bumping the light shakes and goes in and out.
There is no rain sensor on that mirror....only other option on that mirror was a humidity sensor which is the extra little sensor you tucked into the headliner.
Hello, sorry, I have a RAM 1500 2014 and I bought the remote controls to configure them, since I didn't have them and when I went to the locksmith he told me that the RAM cannot be configured because it does not have the device from the factory to do it, my question is, it will be true that this option does not come from the factory, thanks for your help...
some of these sensors (maybe only the rain sensor) unfortunately need hole in the black paint which you will not have unless you change windshield as well, or relocate sensors lower below the paint out of the box
I have that mirror already installed on my 2016 jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo when I bought it last month and I can not get it to dim for anything in the world, theirs no options that I can find that will allow for it to dim, if anyone knows how to dim this rear view mirror please link a video to it
An awful lot of trouble to upgrade a rearview mirror that you can’t even use the microphones if you install an aftermarket stereo they don’t even make a retention kit. Uconnect is garbage when the vehicle gets over a few years old and all the radios don’t get much louder then about 20-30DB In my opinion this is the Dodge dealers way of saying that if you don’t buy a vehicle for $50,000 every three years, you’re not gonna have a good stereo
