On the square body chevys that came with the 6.2 diesel, the radiators are huge. Its a bolt-in if you have the brackets for it, or you can make your own. The radiator inlet and outlet are in the correct position, but they're bigger. When I pulled a 6.2 out of an '81 pickup, I converted it to a 350. I made neck-down adapters mid-hose and ran it. Could never get the temp above 100, so that was the first vehicle I HAD TO put a thermostat in.

I appreciate the video and all your efforts with the cameras and editing. Those are very tough trucks and trailer.

That bearing event was classic Mike. I was drying a bearing using air nozzle once and it spontaneously elevated with special powers omg laughing my arse off 😂

Forgetting the keys is so classic! We all do it. I once drove up into the Colorado mountains to shoot photography and forgot my camera. Doh!

Good job, as usual, with a clever twist. For the amount of time your wheel bearings spend in the water, boat trailer grease might work better. Check the specs on the temp. Your brakes may not get as hot as a performance car with red hot rotors that need the high temp grease. If I remember correctly, the heat rating on the boat grease is still pretty high. When the hubs are hot, dunking them in the creek causes rapid cooling which lowers the air pressure in the hub, and the atmosphere, bearing on the water, pushes it into the hub. Rusty bearings are the result. Good seals are a must.

Great job with the TRX... that's a HEAVY beast. Since it's so heavy & had so much additional resistance dragging it.... Next time try spraying WD40 in front of the dragging tires..pretty sure you keep that in the boxes. it'll give just enough to help winch, but not to slide sideways during transport.... Flatbed tow trucks often use a bottle with cheap dish soap & like 1/3 water works great to help sliding on/off & it also washes off easy...(Matt would be proud you forgot the key Fob lol) but at least you don't run outta gas!..... Side note... I doubt you carry an air wedge & long reach lockout tool, but if ya had access inside.... Down by the OBD port on drivers lower dash.... there's a panel that pops open & there's a lil Red or Orange fabric pull strap.... (some have a lil small aluminum slide lock ya slide, then pull the strap) That will put the truck in neutral. (when the bypass is in use, they will NOT start even with a key fob) the Jeep Grand Cherokees have em in the center armrest under the rear cover) (actually... most vehicles have one if ya know where... Nice to see Mater getting some more TLC :)

Hi Rory! I've towed my share of diabled vehicles. So.....Your going to laugh at my suggestion. When everything is locked up I've gotten out my extra oil I have carried and put oil on my ramps, and trailer deck and slip and slided a vehicle onto my trailer. Makes a mess but has helped me out several times! LOL!

I always thought the squeaking was coming from spring bushings. The poly bushings are known to squeak if you switched to them from rubber.

I hit something with my Ford and the steering locked up. When I cranked hard it broke lose but wouldn't cycle the turning radius. The FWD still worked. Come to find out the u joint broke and was working from the ears hitting each other. Hey great video , good bringing Mater so you didn't have to bring the keys. Lol I can relate.
