The X-Grip won't keep the phone over bumps without the rubber straps. Mine took a tumble in traffic because I was in a hurry and didn't do the straps. Pothole and off went the phone on its own little trip. Trashed the case but the case kept the phone alive.
I haven't had any problems, but out of caution I eventually went to a Quadlock with the vibration protection, and then I most recently installed Carplay/Android Auto device on my bike and just keep my phone in my pocket. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BInA3XEAQ7s.html
Quick grip is the way to go but be careful, it can possibly damage your phone camera. Mine has been damaged and so now I'm trying to think of a way to add some type of "cushion" to it so I don't make my camera worse than it is now.
