@@vaishalisati9603 Opinion is based on my study of Guha for 25 years. He used to be my favorite historian when I was in school and then I realized later on that he was a Congress loyalist. He himself is biased, blinded by his hatred to Hindutva. This is why his ilk has lost all respect. They don't even understand Hindutva but claim to be historian....I remind you, I was a leftist in my college days.

Savarkar never invovled in freedom struggle after the mercy petition and greatness IS he stood on his word. Infact he instigated many people to join british army and eventually that army attacked INA battalions in Rangoon... It's all documented my friend. But it is hard accept that it doesnt suit the ideology. Vikram sampath if and buts KA history hai....he cannot prove Hindu Mahasabha alliance with Muslim league in NFA region. It's all documented. Savarkar wanted Hindu Rastra, Jinnah wanted Muslim rastra.

It is a pertinent question. The centrist approach is needed, congress if it becomes truely rational and secular I would happily vote for them. But their bias is one of the reasons why my distrust started.
How could he simply say that hindutva is about portraying Muslims as evil so and so ? It's not about knowing others. It's knowing about what we were and what we have become...and correcting the mistakes we have made in our history religiously, economically etc..and we r not the only people in our history... Everybody is accountable in the process...so the result....
Hindutva has nothing related to Hinduism. It is Just using Hindu religion. It has been defined by Golvalkkar as a political ideology. It is used simply to win elections. Hinduism is a way of life whereas Hindutva is a political ideology.
@@curiosity_fan centrist approach can never have a clear winner. Congress is close to centrist approach but have gone left of center now. None of the parties are right of center when it comes to economic policies. If congress becomes fair to Hindus by bringing UCC, remove control over temples, no funds to minority education, I will be glad to support them. I don’t want any special preference to Hindus either. Govt buildings should not show Hindu or other gods.

Sir, hindutva is for the progress of hindus in india after a lapse of 1200 years of muslim invaders and British colonialism. It is not against Muslims but certainly makes them unhappy and uncomfortable and many times violent. To be fair muslims should have migrated to Pakistan as per wishes of Mr Jinnah. Democracy means will of majority.To find fault in it is like splitting hairs.

Mahatma Gandhi went on a Fast to pacify Hindu Muslim tensions in Delhi right after Partition because he could not prevent it. He even gave his life for the sake of it. These are read much more than the modern history. About the food, clothing, arts etc, had these not been part of our history, all our traditions would have been long lost and forgotten by now. There seems to be a serious lack of popular faces among the left-illiberals in India. I have forgotten how many times has Shri Guha featured in The Wire, The Telegraph, The Hindu, NDTV etc. Now he is turning up here.
He is very active writer and hence appears multiple times. There are at 10 other popular faces like P Sainath, journalists like Ravish, Barkha and others, politicians like Supriya Sule, P Thiagarajan a chunk of the film industry particularly from the South. So there is no dearth of popular faces. May be you should watch more shows and content to understand better.
