If you want the biryani rice to not be completely squashed you can put some lemon and oil while boiling the rice with extra water and drain the water and then rinse with cold or normal water and then mix with the curry or spice mixture

Sister we should not get upset if we have our period during fasting. It is blessings from Allah. During this time us women have to still do everything like daily chores but Allah is Merciful because we have to rest from fasting and Salah. And also we have the option to make up wherever we can. Alhamdulilah.
